Bent Wing Bird, the F4U Corsair
This to me, is the sexiest aircraft to fly in WW2, the F4U Corsair. This model is a Vought Built F4U-4 and is based based out of Texas.
Carrier use in design, her massive propeller got the gull wing design for carrier use. This one is armed with 4 20MM cannon over the usual 6 .50 caliber machine guns.
I know several folks have their own opinions on certain aircraft, and the Corsair is my favorite aircraft.
I caught this one taxiing to take off, the camera speed 'froze' the propeller still.

these birds were very good, but there was a lot of different training made for landing these birds back on the ship due to the engine being so big and int he way of view for pilots. At first pilots were crashing below the deck, then the brits figured out that you need to make a landing by turning in towards the deck than just straight on.
