Speed-paint of Raphael from the movie Rio. That movie has to be one of the best I've seen in a long while. Just a quick little painting exersize done in ArtRage and Photoshop.

Well will see the Vet on Aug 26th and get my bird sexed. But for now we're set on it being a girl, so we named her Wahine (Wah-Hee-Neh) which is Hawaiian for Lady/woman. If it's a boy then we might name him Kane (Kah-neh) which is Hawaiian for Gentleman/man. Or we might go all JackSparrow on him and name him "Savvy". LOL But I think a Hawaiian name would suit a pretty bird nicely ^__^
She's growing up pretty fast. Most of her down is gone and she is starting to fly better. She still eats formula though, twice a day. She eats at bit solid foods in the middle of the day so she's almost weaned. :) Will get her wings clipped when we see the Vet.

Oooh dear, please do not get her wings clipped just yet! It is CRUCIAL that she has full flight, and learns how to use it before her wings are clipped. It severely effects their balance if their wings are clipped before full flight is achieved. :( The folks at Bird Fever (A bird paradise shop here in central indiana) cautioned me with that on Bodi, my own conure. He achieved full flight before his first clipping. he currently has full flight, we've been working on the "Come back" command, and he's learning real quick. Today, even, he decided to take a spin around the family room. I call for him, he turns in mid flight and flies to land on my shoulder or offered arm.
