A few weeks back, I attended a wonderful convention with wonderful artists. Speaking with them and picking their brains really put the wind back in my art sails, so I picked a few folks' OCs to draw together.
One of my favorite aspects of drawings characters with reference sheets is translating "cartoony" shapes and styles into my particular directions. Every character here except for the human (he didn't have a reference sheet) had very different styles, so I asked myself a lot of questions like what their most important facial/body features are, how should I translate those into my "style", and how I might best compose the piece. After all, that human is a rather short fellow, and the characters around him are quite large. All in all, a fun piece!
