Celeste Fusée-Noir
Birthday: June 17th
A shy but talented electrical engineer living in St. Hector, when her husband Guy Noir is found murdered in their home, she soon finds herself trapped in the middle of a conspiracy. Finding Guy's secret chemical laboratory, she's attacked by her husband's killer, a mercenary known as the White Rabbit, and left for dead in a burning building, drenched in a chemical formula labelled "sequence digamma."
Thanks to the chemicals mutating her body, she survives, and is imbued with enhanced strength, agility, stamina, and durability, along with the power to control electricity. Determined to find the truth behind her husband's secrets and the organization that ordered his death, she decides to use her powers to become a superhero, and would be known as the first of what would be called "Digammas."
- Innate control over electricity. Can project focused bolts as well as continuous current, and can store large amounts of energy.
- Enhanced strength, agility, stamina, and durability. Not quite bulletproof, but can take huge amounts of damage and heals quickly.
- Can enter Overclock Form in order to further enhance her abilities. She is, however, temporarily depowered afterwards.
- Cannot swim due to increased body density. Water does not short out her powers but does force her to exert more effort in order to direct it without causing collateral damage.
- Extremely power magnetic fields can interfere with her powers and even disorient her due to her increased sensitivity to them.
-- Extra Trivia --
- June 17th is the first day I decided to try drawing her as a bird, since her original design was human. Since I'm much happier with her bird design, I figured making that her official birthday just made sense.
- The last name Fusée-Noir is a reference to a comic I drew in elementary school called Black Rocket. It was a very bad ripoff of Dragon Ball Z.
- Superpowered beings in this universe are eventually referred to as "Digammas," after the label on the chemical formula that causes Celeste's mutation. I chose the name from an old idea I had for a game back in high school, where the main character was a cyborg named Digamma, and you fought various other cyborgs named after Greek letters.
