Jade enters the Bleak Chamber, but what comes out?
Jade Hollingberry is, or was, the half sister of Berretta, sharing a father, Thomas. Although, Jade was conceived in an affair.
Jade was raised alongside Berretta, even after Thomas had passed away.
Many years later, after Berretta left home, Thomas's wife Martha would try to groom Jade to inherit the family company. But Jade has absolutely no cutthroat nature to her, and was therefore constantly called a failure by Martha and she was constantly compared to Berretta. "The perfect one that got away."
As an adult, Jade researched Mokari culture, being half Mokari, and took a vested interest in trying to coax them out of their underground cities and into mainstream public life. However, her half-human physiology made her much curvier than normal Mokari, and gave her strikingly green eyes and rounded human ears. Jade's features made her despised by the Mokari, who saw her as polluting human blood with the Mokari curse.
Normally, Jade would have just taken this like any other loss, but something about being so thoroughly rejected by her "people" flipped a switch in Jade's head and caused her to crash out and punch a village elder in the face out of rage. She was banished from that village, and Jade sulked away, ashamed.
After this, Jade left to spend her days snacking and moping at one of the Hollingberry family's many vacation homes, this one in Japan.
At least it was quiet.
In the events of Part 3, Jade would hear the call of a trio of ancient artifacts, sentient weapons held by ancient warriors. An armor, a sword, and a shield, each being sentient.
Jade would wield these and assist Tori and Kage during the events of Part 3, specifically the Jurres Invasion.
However, Jade, despite her intentions, never reached Quantum Ascension in Japan, held back by decades of self-doubt and insecurity.
She helped as best she could, but ultimately was outclassed by many heroes around her.
But, her efforts earned her the respect of her sister, Berretta. And for Jade, that was enough.
Not ready to give up on her people, Jade had been using Watchtower funds to establish supply caravans to Mokari villages anonymously, to mixed success.
Many years later, Jade was guided by her weapons to a remote village in Mokar, her weapons feeling a strange pull and practically begging her to go to a village whose inhabitants suddenly disappeared.
Once Jade enters, she finds what seems to be a sandstone tunnel breaching the cave walls and suspended just above an underground river.
All the homes are empty, and the tunnel emits eerie sounds.
Jade knows going in might mean the end of her, but can't pull herself away, a strange compulsion guides her to what she feels is certainly her death.
And once she enters, the door behind her shuts.
Welcome to the Bleak Chamber.
The entrance to the underground interdimensional labyrinth of Nebula Island.
Jade enters, but will she come back out the same?
