^u^ i was given an oc by Natalie, aka MetroniX727, which she did as practice to warm up to bigger pieces.
:3c i wont post the original here just yet, but suffice to say, she gave me permission to do my own interpretation of her.
the original sketch was of a golden sheep with pink horns, shirt, and eyes. She was meant to be a smaller cutesier clone of ∆ Roster ∆, my Sheepsona.
i named her Aurum as it is the greek word for Gold, and i named her Superturbo for a number of reasons.
R∆STER, aside from being a new form for my fursona Luna, represents our DID system, as we are Plural!
and we like to imagine our System as an arcade cabinet containing many playable characters, hence, ∆ The Roster ∆.
so if Aurum is a clone lf R∆STER, it stands to reason she should be a contrast to her. arcade systems often had later editions with new features and characters, like Steet Fighter 2, which has Turbo, Super Turbo, and i think even Hyper Turbo.
so Aurum Superturbo is her own edition of R∆STER, probably with her own subtle alters which she is still discovering.
:3c Natie is WELL aware of my love of clones, alt versions, and ESPECIALLY "Dark Links." in fact R∆STER was directly inspired by Dark Link in aesthetics, so this clone was meant to be a kind of "Light Link" if you will, golden and vibrant rather than dark and spoopy.
with that mindset in hand, i decided to add more clothes and acessories in similar vibeant colors, and a few complimentaries.
the base colors of yellow and pink remain, only slightly desaturated to feel a little less toony, but only a little.
she was given a vest with torn sleeves, Hatsune Miku style wrist sleeves with bells on the ends, a cutesy diaper with an inverted radiation hazard logo, and a "Net Skirt" made to add to the sillouette while still showing off the pamps.
the skirt itself was a very fun moment of serendipity, the sketchbook page had a pencil mark from me accidentally drawing on it as i was moving it around and drawing on the opposite side.
this accidental line, a fun curved shape, was too stylish to get rid of, especially because it happened by accident. so i turned it onto the bottom line for a skirt and used it to help form the pose the character would be in.
i went with a net design, loosely inspired by the checkerboard patterning of Trish's skirt from Jojo Part 5, because i wanted something unique, and to have openings to show off the diaper, as if to say this character is stylish but with nothing to hide. (also somewhat inspired by the net pattern of one of Tidus' pant legs in Final Fantasy X)
(diapers added with permission, Natie knows what im into and supports it. X3 love ya girly.)
also to help the horns stand out more while keeping their original size the same, i added some splotches of darker pink as a sort of natural pattern that stems from the base and dissipates as it goes upward, made of simple circles in 2 sizes.
kinda has a lava lamp look to it, Natie asked quote "did she paint her horns??? :0" and quite liked it, so id say it was a good choice.
i consider the splotches to be natural horn patterns, but they can be interpreted as paint if you like.
as per usual, my coloring is done via sampling colors from various arts and photos to try and make something both maximalist and readable.
i do this because, as i am color blind, i cant choose my own colors and be sure i know what im doing. whats blue to me might be purple for you. so i took from many sources.
purples for the vest came from a punk rock graphic on a vest i found, colors for the sleeves came from Season 0 Yugioh, in particular Yami Bakura's blue hair highlights and the dark purple(?) of magic emanating from his Millenium Ring, and the bells and star patterns on those sleeves came from the Millenium Ring itself.
the hooves, both feet and fingerhooves, as well as the Net Skirt, are given a greyish blue i found from art of a diapers inner lining that i found appealing. diaper colors are from an old Card Captor Sakura AB/DL fanart i stumbled across, "sword" colors are from that and some old fighting game sword i found whose name escapes me at the moment.
... you get it, my process is haphazard and stems from many sources, but they say if you steal from ALL directions, no one can tell where the theft begins and the originality ends.
(that was cheeky humor, sampling colors isnt a bad thing.)
posing was done by me, but i also pulled a couple of poses from KoF characters, i THINK from KoF 14. cookies to whoever can figure out who she posing like!
(the Miku sleeves bells are also in the same position as the zipper lines on Ash Crimson's sleeves, which i took inspiration for the shape the sleeves end in.)
and in case yur wondering, she's holding her favorite album: Still life with scabiosa and buttercups, By Buttercup Van Gogh of the Fallen Star Knights. (i have SO much tertiary lore, you dont even know. my lore bible is gonna be crazy and PACKED.)
and ALL of this was done via digital coloring of a sketch that was drawn and inked by hand, and i have to give MASSIVE thanks to Natie for showing me how to edit pictures of the sketch to up the contrast and single out the inklines, you saved me HOURS of work, and made my art program much more approachable.

Aurum was one of many clones developed in an underground facility, under the project name "Fractal Fabrication."
persons unknown are beginning to unravel mysteries surrounding eldritch happenings in the land of Anthem, and so are trying to investigate further thru gene study.
the following is an entry by one of their staff, Doctor Proctor.
Luna Stardust, lead singer and traveling Bard for the Dead Mall Society, is quite the enigma herself. her following has an almost zealous devotion, and those in her inner circle, her "Cult of Stardust," show signs of Anomalous traits.
Anomalies exist plenty in Anthem, bizarre mutants with abilities that, at a glance, have no basis in physics. But in truth, its just their abilities are yet to be fully understood.
Luna has achieved a kind of permenant state of trance she calls "enlightenment," and with it seems to have worldly understanding that goes beyond normal. whats more... she somehow evades capture easily. she claims to be under the care of someone called "Fabra," but no such individual has been found.
she has a hypnotic quality about her, making study tedius, but she at least isnt vying for power with this. no anomalies do... its a frustrating commonality amongs them, a rare shared trait in a subspecies with no real commonalities besides.
but samples of her DNA were gathered, and so testing has begun.
Aurum, who insists on being called "Superturbo," has managed to be born with permatrance as her default, and seems even more in tune with the world around her than the other test subjects. she knows nothing about why.
her intelligence is... difficult to measure. she has trouble with reading words and matching shapes, but she can converse quite fluently after learning how to, and she picks up on a lot more than she lets on.
but she can also be dense, overly literal, ludicrously optimistic, and hopelessly whimsical about her surroundings.
her ingenuity is nothing to sneeze at either, her desire for nonviolent combat has lead her to invent a sword of "Stun Sword."
the weapon in question is just a fancy toy, restored and modified after she found and clung to it from an old world toy store.
inside are batteries, kinetic generators, and connecting points that can deliver shocks to anyone hit, and built more power with precise swings to avoid need for power outlets or solar energy.
the shock isnt at all harmful, no lasting damage is left aside from maybe a bruise or two of she swings too hard. rather, the stun partially immobilizes foes by disrupting muscle control.
essentially, enough hits will leave someone with temporarily debilitated walking and grasping ability, rendering them easy to capture or tie down. no bloodshed, and no mortal injury.
she's also quite proud of how, with correct application, a swing to the gut in just the right places can induce temporary urinary incontinence, a tactic she calls "psych-warf" (psychological warfare), but also clearly an excuse to explore her fetish... no we still dont understand how ALL the clones have this fetish, it boggles the mind.
this is also her claimed reason for needing diapers, on the off chance of "kickback" from the sword. no such backfire or malfunction has been seen, and evidence shows she's just lazy and kinky.
fortunate then we have so many waste disposal chips salvaged from PG uniforms, as we dont have the budget to supply her with endless disposables. completely sanitary, waste becomes energy for the chip, chip removes waste, including both the obvious and excess radiation and sweat. reduces laundry too, as a bonus.
Aurum has... complained. but says the instant cleaning is at least worth it for the "cute designs" she can do for her padding.
if she ever complains about having too little fun, just appeal to her sense of fashion, it works most of the time.
subject has been given free reign of travel, with ocasional chaperoning by agents of our number.
Aurum has been given a "fashionable ear ring" with a built in tracker and biometrics scanner to keep tabs on her and assess her body's potential.
risk of information leak is unlikely, as she's been told to keep this facility secret as part of a "Spy Game." Aurum is very easily placated by recontextualizing of tasks as games.
with the recent disapearance of Steve Smolder, we at least have one less nosey "hero" looking into things...

color blind as i am, i gotta sample my colors from MANY sources if i wanna get a pallet that looks good. often i gotta just trust my gut and hope it looks good
