A Chance to Catch Some Rays (ReokuKurosai/Gynesis)

The time had come at last for Elizabeth to unwind.
It had been a fraught two months for her hospital following a spate of car accidents, many of them having taken place at the same junction. Until recently it had been a mystery, but then one of her patients, a wolf whose pups had suffered broken legs and herself a broken arm and head injuries, had brought with her the dashcam footage she had taken. There, she revealed that another driver had very foolishly gone straight through a red light and ploughed into the side of her car. Another two patients had revealed, just before they were discharged from the ward, that the same thing had happened to both of them at the very same junction.
Perhaps, she reasoned, there had been something obscuring the traffic lights? Perhaps there had been a blind spot that prevented the drivers who had hit these vehicles seeing them until it was too late? She couldn't tell for sure from the footage. Things like this typically happened in the winter, she reasoned, where there was black ice to watch out for. And yet these accidents had all occurred in the summer.
For this fortnight off, however, it was not her concern, though in the back of her mind, she hoped that there would be no further accidents. As she unfurled her towel onto the beach, her worries seemed to melt away like the sand beneath her paw pads. She could let go of her duties at the hospital for that length of time, at least - even her boss had admitted to sometimes craving some time away from it.
All she needed now was for Peter to return with the ice cream and the sunscreen. Even if she spent the bulk of her two weeks catching as many rays as she could, it would still be time well spent.
It's been a long old time since a certain doctor wah graced my FA gallery. ^^;
