Ice is fun. I have a probably fifteen pound block in my freezer now lol

And for something that's actually: I really like the fact it isn't totally sharp, the blur towards the bottom gives it an artsy kinda effect.

Where is ice study 1?

Oh, I was contacted by one of the staff of the site and was told I could only post 3 photos. So I choose the best ones.

Darn. If only Dragoneer would let you pay a penny per extra picture and agree to put them in your scraps so they wouldn't irritate browsers. It costs FA about 0.1 cent per image to store it, and data transmission costs on something like this would be negligible. Dragoneer is taking paid adds, which is OK by me, but FA members are ill served when they are not allowed to pay for additional services that they want.

Perhaps you might be willing to post the explanation from Ice #1 under Ice #2?

Not too much to explain here... at the time I thought I am going to be in the northern Arctics, so I froze a block of water into ice and tried to find good way to make photos of it work, but because the ice is so dirty, or at least got alot of air inside, it's nearly impossible to get a closeup shot of it, the photos I did not post here are more or less blurs in the shape of ice... the one that were left at least have some part of them in focus.

You can degas water by boiling it for a few minutes, then pouring it into a Pyrex bottle and stoppering it without an air space. After cooling, pour it into a zip lock baggie, again without an airspace, and freeze. Result is clear bubble free ice.

Thanks for the tip, though doesn't seem I'll be going to the Arctics soon, but if I ever want to try this again I'll be sure to do so.
