Joey... Oh Joey... Yeah this guy is a bit of a prick, the first guy among my cast that has no real personality that isn't, say stupid puns and jokes with a few gotcha's. Couldn't refuse Irie's boyfriend though so...
Joey is a man with a strange combination of Mexican Australian heritage and his abilities revolve around being next to immune to any venomous substance and very resistant to toxins in any form. Being a true Ozzie man, without being able to get drunk without Funnel web venom or Box Jellyfish cocktails as he puts it suuuucks.
Joey grew up along Australian coastlines and for some years in the country's interior, he kinda got used to not caring about the dangers of his environment when he learned how resistant he was to the effects of getting, bit, stung or stuck... If they could break through his hardy skin. With a mother he never knew, as she left him and his father when he was young and a father that specialized as a Medic in the military before turning to farming, he grew up being very self reliant as other kids never had the courage to follow him as he imitated his Dad's stories in the local brush field. Outside of very rare cases his tougher skin hardened by his bloodline; species and hard work and play in many sunlit days, any creature that attacks him needs conviction in it's strike. Naturally as time went on he became more capable and ended up with a humble job in a country far away from his home as a chef, wherein his relationship with Iris gave him untold fame and has led to his business receiving many customers of upper echalons that claim small diners like his own should never be granted any great accord... They all took a meal to go for the following day
Joey's items and features are past trauma's he's overcome: His star scar was and is the only reminder of a venom his body couldn't withstand, Necrosis began and he found very quickly that his father had steady hands, enough to remind him forever that he wasn't invincible, a cruel joke he often remarks; The pendant is the only piece of his mother's legacy, her item she never took with her for whatever reason... He doesn't really care about it beyond how cool he thinks it is; His father's sweatband is one half of a matching set so he'd never forget the man who raised him, his father still has the other one and they talk over the phone once a week to keep in touch.
Joey is a display of resilience in the face of hardship and a walking joke always happy to be the punchline
