Incredible work I would put this on the wall I don't want to think about how long all them tiny details took you. The blue also gives amazing contrast!!

Sorry! just saw the comment. Didn't actually use a specific technique, I use tons of layers, adding detail with each of them, textures, etc and then I defined some single gold coins shapes. I have to admit it was really hard to paint that!
