The myth of the legendary salamandar revolves around some events as metal workers/ alchemists tossing logs into a fire and they would see salamandars 'come out of nowere'. This led to thinking that the salamadars were born of fire or of the sustenance of life. Versus the Pheonix born of dispare. Will is part of a group of four elementals I'm working up here:

I'm hoping that after some more adjustment and work, the non-photo-manipulated stuff will look better with the raster(shadows, lights, and whatnot) :) Looking forward to it.
Suggestions about having a flame screen in the foreground and division to better reveal the char very welcome!
# a word on the poke'mon design- magmar was intended to embody a court jester, mythic salamandar, a kabuki dancer, and a Salsa Dancer(frilled sleeves maybe). Magmar's muzzle is bare because its skin has been horiffically burnt off, it's not a bill. Truth!
