Bunnie and Lupe both cover up their naughty bits in 'present' SatAM continuity. This character is pre-collapse, where almost all the characters are seen wearing full clothing. (The king, queen, almost everyone's parents, etc.) One can only assume that during the monarchy clothing was manufactured and more readily available, allowing for Mobians to wear it to help keep clean, as a status symbol, or myriad other reasons.
Post-collapse, there aren't many clothing stores open, and the guerrilla resistance groups would have little need for it anyway, as it would just get caught jumping fences, get dirty creeping through the sewer systems, etc.
Post SatAM continuity, the characters move farther north and to higher altitude, so clothing becomes more useful again, as a way to keep warmer for the less acclimated species. With rampant underground mining and pollution, it also keeps them warmer as the global temperature drops due to tunnels trapping cold air and disrupting surface thermal exchange. It also keeps acid rain off.
So yes, I have watched SatAM, and love it very much. Indeed, most of the SatAM characters are not gonna wear much during that part of the story series, but going commando the whole time is just not plausible in the story, from both literary standpoint and a literal one.

wow... that actually looks a lot like me, that is, if i was a squirrel. whoa! i have a tie almost like that! it has the value of Pi to the 150th place, BUT! my lab coat only comes to my knees! his goes slightly past the knees. but still the resemblance is striking even the socks. O.K. where did you put the cameras Nori?. I am feeling exsposed!.
naw... i couldent do that to you. *puts down cheese grater and ketchup, but, still wearing lederhosen* besides i like the drawing. there can only be two possibilities, while i was in meditation i some how channeled the thought of myself to you and given you a mental picture of me or!... this could all be one of those coinencidences that life trows at you to liven things up a little. but which one's right? i have been meditating a lot... i guess i could try to "contact" you mentaly... and see what happens... if you start hearing a voice, its just me.
