In the early morning of August 31st, Holt reached out to me. The rogue wielders I've been after agreed to message me in the coming days once things died down, as they were well aware of what happened at Paradise and the heat with it.

I asked if he was able to help Lily, but he couldn't. He didn't have that authority, and Eltyr is already crossed about expending the resources they did. Still, they wanted to talk as well. I refused, but Holt says they don't seem the type to take 'no' for an answer.

He did however confirm that a STEEL squad was on the way to apprehend Lily from intercepted Link messages. ETA in two days. A detachment from Ulysses cleaning up the mess that was left behind.

I wasn't going to make it in time. My ETA would be 12 days on the safe route, the same one that brought me here. But it could be cut down to a mere 5 days if we went the southern route through the Fallen Stone Pass and south of the Iron Valleys. But this was full of bandits.

We went with the southern route, but I would still be 3 days late. It wasn't enough. So I had to do something that I hoped I wouldn't one day regret. I responded to X0-C3, and asked if she could intercept.

Initially she was receptive, but it would come at a great cost. She wanted answers, and she wanted to meet the wielders. I agreed, but only with some discussions.

With that, she assured me that Lily would remain safe, and that we would talk more in person when I arrived.

And that I better fulfill my end of the bargain this time. For if I don't, then Lily is at risk, not just me. Her 'insurance' as she put it.
