I can mess around with it further. I probably would not have it this dark, and would need to make it so the inside of the mouth / shadows in general are not so dark.

Don't get me wrong, a darker blueberry color doesn't look bad, but it sure makes it hard to see this creature when nighttime comes.

Yeah, I have to be careful with making them too dark.

I mean, that's the thing when you make the blueberry color darker, you just have to consider when the character might swell up in the middle of the night, and thus, it would be hard to see unless some lighting adjustments happen to where we can see the drawing (foreground character) with a darker background. I'm sure you know that in the back of your mind, so it's nothing I have to worry too much about.
