I don't like this one much, but after working on this bastard for several weeks I just couldn't let him be. I'm aware that things look a bit funny here and there, but realism isn't really my cup of tea. I get nervous when there's no lineart.
I got distracted going through my .PSD files and then I decided to add the final layers and finish this one in a jiffy. I'm aware that there's a million other things I should be doing right now. Sleeping is just one of them.
Cunla is my half-elf pirate. He's a professional drunkard, a lousy magician and a mediocre street performer. He often ends up spending time in prisons, poor houses or mental asylums depending on what kind of officers catch him first. He had a D&D alignment of some sort, but thankfully his barber-surgeon brother-in-law removed it before it got worse.

Nerdiness is goooood. Though I must say I've never been into alignments. Too restrictive. The human mind cannot be crammed into a box with labels.
I don't know about the dwarven mind, but that's whole another thing.
Cunla's alignment, if he had one, would change on a daily basis. His mind can be many things and he might have several motives at the same time. These motives change in time even though he might still pursue the same goals. And sometimes a certain deed changes its nature when observed from a different perspective... And what is good or bad or neutral, even? Culturally determined concepts, I say!

Heh, thanks. At first I pondered whether I ought to make his pointy ears visible, but it was easier to hide them under the hair. ^_^
I think the colours came out pretty smoothly, but the bird, the pearls, the arm, the lantern... All these separate areas I worked on didn't blend in the way I wanted. Kinda tricky. ._.

Aaah my friend, my friend, I wish I had your talent dear, this piccie is spectacular, the light effects are so beautiful and, his expression is so misteryous, (a trademark of you) not to mention the tremendous work you did on the bird, the pearl necklace adds a lot to the overall mystic feel of the pic. Congrats!!!
ohmygod, your coloring is amazing. line less coloring is so hard to do [at least for me], so it's really neat when I see it done well. I love how you colored the hair, and the warm lighting. also, your style is lovely, and this character has gorgeous eyes [and other features!]
I still admire your ability to colour with no lineart.
All the accessories look really neat. Particularly the latern, bird and pearls.
He has an extremely fine mustache and beard. For some reason, I'm finding that highly amusing.
Anyway, nice job on the lighting. There doesn't seem to be too much of a random light source in conjuction with the latern. :P
