...on one hand, being on the islands, you'll probably be spared the brunt of the anarchy that happens when America ends on the 2nd....

...on the other, any supplies you might normally get will be completely dried up, and you'll be open to invading armies.

i dont riot. I just look at the alternatives and see what happens 5 years down the road....they suck.....the first thing they do is vote themselves raises. I honestly think they should be like the president. you get 2 terms of 4 years....after that you are out, but none of them should get retirement. None of them should get pension.

So tell me, if democracy works so well....why has every country that uses it eventually failed terribly? Because everyone keeps putting the same old bastards in office until they bleed the country dry. if they get caught with their hand in the cookie jar.....break the hand. Might get a little more attention. I'm not into dictatorship, but I'd rather have something better than this. Our country, has slowly degraded into a really really bad place. We have no money, we have a currency that is failing, and half our humanitarian efforts, (while I understand the world needs a helping hand) go to other places when we cant even feed our own homeless. We ship all our jobs out elsewhere to provide them Jobs, but leave our own kinsmen no way to work and pay for the products. (thank you Big Corporations) And they claim huge tax deductions every year, because Legally a corporation is seen, under the letter of the law. as a living breathing person.

If I had a wish, I would wish that every human being who says or implies that the US is a democracy, their heads would explode, then reform, and explode again every time they did it again.

We are NOT a democracy. We have never BEEN a democracy. In fact, democracy is ILLEGAL in the USA. Why? Because democracy is two wolves and one sheep deciding what to have for dinner, THAT'S WHY.

We are a republic. Do you know what that means? Apparently not, because you refuse to vote. That makes you LEGALLY RESPONSIBLE for whatever bad shit happens in this country, because under a republic, you have a LEGAL RESPONSIBILITY TO PARTICIPATE.

The fact that our government does not choose to penalize people who don't participate should be informative all on it's own.

Anyway...

The reason so much bad shit is happening in this country, is because so many people are suffering from the acid trip that this nation actually IS a democracy, and because the majority say it's okay, then it must actually BE okay. This is why supreme court justices are acting like house-boys to the majority opinions. Activist judges? WTF, Chuck?!? When did ENFORCING THE LAW become activism???

The debt issue should be a cut & dried event. But so far, everyone is treating it like the opinion of the public matters, and every swinging dick and tit in the government is taking marching orders from the Kock Brothers or the corporations. And we're all going to feel pain because of it.

So, when it comes down to the question of who's responsible for that pain?
