The Price is Right: Consolation Prizes (My Piano Solo)
This is my piano solo arrangement for another prize cue from "The Price is Right," although I may have the title wrong; the YouTube video I used to help me make it listed it as "Track 37." What I do know for sure is that this used to play when the cameras would show the three players that were not able to make it on stage, and the announcer would show the prizes they received just for being chosen. (Today, it's a small cash prize such as $300, and so George Gray doesn't say anything about it on camera.)
It will debut on my YouTube channel on September 4, the show's anniversary date, but I decided to go ahead and post it here on FA today. (The show began in 1972 and was called "The New Price is Right" to distinguish it from the 1950s-60s version that was hosted by the dean of game show hosts, Bill Cullen. It proved popular enough in its own right, however, that the producers chose to drop the word "New.") I've also discovered that with the debut this month of Season 54, TPIR goes down in the record books as the longest-running game show in the entire world! (The previous record holder was the Chilean Spanish-language variety show Sábado Gigante, which ran for 53 seasons from 1962 to 2015, all 53 of which were hosted by the very famous TV host Don Francisco. It had game show segments, and every audience member wore a name tag, so to me, that does count.)
