Ibbrazzillia & Voekoko: Starbound Showstoppers (Practice)
Over the course of the last week, I practiced from some screenshots of the character builder in Baldur's Gate 3 to study on drawing draconic faces in a 3D setting and learning to clean areas around the cheekbone and eyes. While I don't have the game, I also practiced with the dracthyr as well, with both all of the practice shots being on my Instagram. With the studies complete, I decided to apply it to some of my older characters, giving them alternate designs mashing the two games with my own designs. I'm hoping I learned something from the work, as I'm planning to help a friend design his fursona sometime soon. I think I struggle with angles still, so any feedback would be greatly appreciated, as always! Thanks for viewing, as well.
As a bit of fun vaporware text for such alternative designs: Starbound Showstoppers is the second entry in the Ibbia and Vo-Vo series (more commonly known with their full first names in the regional and PAL release titles), entering the market in Spring 2009 for Nintendo DS systems. An earlier release was planned, but directions shifted with the new handheld, with the game being rebuilt from the ground up and changing from 2D sprites to full low-poly 3D models for the characters and world. This artistic decision expanded to the overall designs of the characters, with designers deciding to give the cast an edgier and more detailed look in all promotional and cover art, with intent to differentiate the I&V RPG series from mainline titles with the titular characters. Despite the change in style, the game saw little changes to its main battle mechanics outside of Quality of Life updates and Performance Abilities intergrading the touchscreen into certain attacks and actions.
The story sees the couple on a trip to Luskan, the City of Sails, having been invited for their stageplays. However, after a delayed tripped, Ibbia and Voekoko are barred entry to the city, it fallen to a group of Chrono Wizards who aim to resurrect an ancient beast who was slain in the past. The fiends plan to do as such with powers of necromancy, resurrecting old rulers and making history in their own image. Upon seeing such a disgusting disrespect to the dead and with how it's harming the living, the two dragons plan to put a stop to the cult, making it all a show.

Thanks! I wanted to try something a bit different than how I usually draw some of my older characters, and this was a fun change of pace. I'm hoping my friend messages me back soon so we can collab on his fursona design so I can apply something like this to that.
I appreciate it, thank you! I think coloring designs is my favorite, since I don't have as strong as a grasp on grayscale ironically, but I do enjoy smaller sketches like this, glad you like it too. Thought it would be a good way to round off the practices with a "final test" before I get started back up on some other larger projects for friends and the like.
