Ran across a Facebook post with a couple of pages from an early comic book I wrote and penciled for Jim Main. This was before I learned to ink my own work. The book was DAHL, about a curious mermaid who wanted to bridge the surface world with her own. In a twist, Dahl's friend on the surface may be the only hope for the underwater realm Dahl comes from. To avoid comparisons to The Little Mermaid, which there are obvious similarities to, I made Dahl a blonde -only to discover that the literary Ariel WAS a blonde and had been changed to a redhead for the movie to avoid comparison to SPLASH! Anyway, the pages will let me stretch my remaining files to post, so here's one of them! No idea how hard it is to come by a copy of the book today.
