Shiners are a pretty important part of Bades culture as they're most known as being more or less show offy fishscale lingerie at Shiner Dances, which are clanwide dances.
Now of course as prior mentioned the Hikers missed one a few weeks before they arrived. but that doesn't mean they don't get one.
Shiners are often worn to celebrations, den 'parties' etc. Just as a bit of showoff with ones own denmates. In bades tradition usually a fisher makes their own shiner out of fish they caught, so making shiners for others is seen as a deep sign of appreciation and acceptance amongst that den of Bades Drekir
Though they aren't too ceremonial about it, its a big deal
