Traveling to Death City was a nightmare. He has to fight a horde of witches just to reach Death Weapon Meister Academy. There, he met Maka Albarn and her scythe partner, Soul Eater. They don't seem like two peas in a pod, but he has to admit that they do fight very well together. Because of that, Bluerush asks the two of them to train him, which they accept. For three months, Bluerush has been fighting with/as a scythe, attending classes, and eating the souls of 99 evil humans and one witch. When he was ready, he thanked the two before leaving. He also has control not to turn into a demon weapon... when he is around his friends... and hurting them by accident.

Black Blood's Madness: Taught by Maka & Soul, Bluerush gains a form of madness that allows him to not feel fear and "deny" his opponent's souls as well as his own. With this madness, his fighting style becomes more erratic.
Figure 6 Hunter: Taught by Maka, Bluerush does a rotating, slash attack which is shaped to be that of a number six. He can use it with his weapon but it's more effective using a scythe.
Demon Scythe: Taught by Soul, Bluerush can fully transform into an ordinary scythe or just part of his body into that blade. The blade he turn into is powerful enough to effortlessly cut through human and monster cat flesh.
