My kitty Biba is sick. PLEASE HELP HER!
I ask those who wish to VOLUNTARILY donate any amount in support of Biba!
Dear subscribers and everyone who sees this post!
I have two beloved cats, and I had already collected funds for a cat named Roho, when he suddenly fell ill.
This time, my other cat got into trouble, her name is Biba. She is 7 years old. She is gentle, sensitive and affectionate. On August 8, my old dog died, and from that day she stopped eating. She began to have depression with anorexia. We spent the last week in the hospital, she was hospitalized for a day, then released, but she continued not to eat, and she was taken away again ... Diagnosis for today: triaditis, anorexia, depression.
I pray that she starts eating, otherwise she will need hospitalization, parenteral nutrition and endoscopy.
I don't have the physical and moral strength to make files with reports and checks now, I am also depressed after the death of my dog. Therefore, I ask you to donate voluntarily if you have a place in your heart to help one little cat.
Thanks in advance.

I have sent you money directly via PayPal; I was trying to send it through Ko-Fi similarly to how I've done so previously, but for some reason it wouldn't load whenever I would try to pay. It's a bit less money than the amount I've sent for Rojo's medical wellbeing, but it's all I can afford to part with since it's so late in the month and I've already burned through a large portion of my allowance. Sorry :(
I'm sad to hear that your dear doggo has passed away... and also that Biba has been taking the loss very harshly. Just reminds me how similar animals are to people, if they can grieve and get depressed just like us... I'm assuming that if this issue has been going on for so long, you/the vet have already tried using an appetite stimulant to get Biba to eat? I would suggest one that we use for Sassy in order to keep her weight stable, but I can't imagine appetite medication wouldn't have already been suggested if Biba has been hospitalized.

Hello, dear friend. Big thank you for your help, and please don't say sorry for the amount of donation, it is me who feels guilty by having to ask for help so desperately.
But we are really out of any funds already. More than this, Alex and me don't understand why Biba doesn't respond to all the medications she has now. There is an appetite stimulant, pain reliever, anti-nausea drug, anti-anxiety... And with all this, she just doesn't have ANY interest to any type of food. It's been a 3 days since we are feeding her from with a syringe.
My own anxiety and depression after a loss of my old dog (kidney failure) has increased a lot, and I kinda don't know how to heal our dear Bibochka right now... So, any, any tiny help is very important.
Thank you.

Maybe I'll find the opportunity to donate some more once I receive my paycheck for next month! And yeah, I had suspected that you were already giving her an appetite stim and that it just wasn't working, with this already having been going on for so long... for what it's worth, Sassy takes an appetite stim called Mirataz that seems to help maintain her weight, but i probably won't work if they've already tried other ones. It's a topical ointment that is applied to a cats ear so that it can be absorbed through the skin. Maybe not worth wasting the money on since you're so stressed for funds, but something to consider, I guess.
Ah, so kidney failure went after your dog too... that's the horrible disease that Sassy is fighting at the moment :(
The only other thing I can think of to suggest, is maybe trying to get Biba a new friend? I know that's loooong shot because you already have very little money, it's a huge commitment, you most probably don't want to "replace" your dog, and in the end it's not guaranteed to work, plus Biba already has Rojo! But I've seen posts in the past where a beloved pet passes away and the other pets get depressed because of their absence, and then they perk back up again when their owners get a new pet for them to interact with.

First of all, Biba was hospitalized after making a check-up where our doctor saw she has kidney troubles in a blood analysis. She stayed for two days in a hospital, all the tests were made and she was demonstrating a good progress. But once returned home, she didn't want to eat again, continued to lose weight, to be depressed etc...So our story with hospital repeated, and continued...
By the way, the appetite stimulant is the same! What a coincidence!
Today I was talking to the vet why Biba doesn't get better and they said that possibly Biba has bad reaction to the antidepressant. (Pregabalina). She got worse with it.
I hope the vet gonna see her tomorrow...

Were the kidney irregularities a temporary thing, or did they get better after Biba was hospitalized the first time? I only ask because I worry that if Biba displayed evidence of having kidney problems, then all of the symptoms that she's exhibiting could be signs of a legitimate physical illness rather than just depression, as lethargy, weight loss, and lack of appetite are all symptoms of late stage kidney disease. But if they weren't extraordinarily high, there shouldn't be any correlation between them.
I think Mirtazapine (Mirataz's non-corporate name) is among one of the first appetite stims prescribed by veterinarians, so it's no surprise it was given to her! It's actually an anti-depressant that has a side effect that makes cats hungrier. It's worked wonders for Sassy! But sadly, not every patient responds the same way to medicine...
A side note that you're probably already aware of, but cats not eating anything for three days is grounds for immediate hospitalization. It can cause some kind of organ damage if they don't eat for that long, I just can't remember how.
