This is actually a panel from page 44 of Red Lantern (http://www.furaffinity.net/view/4260941/) but this particular panel hit a certain chord with me. I can't really explain the title I chose without ruining a good portion of the upcoming storyline, but I'm sure the more canny amongst you can infer things.
The occasional emotionally charged scene like this one is what I do the comic thing for, ultimately. Call me a drama whore if you want to. Call it cheesy. I do love me some drama. I can't seem to make a character without severely 'damaging' them. Greek tragedies ARE my favorite genre.
Oh, and Red Lantern is a collaborative comic with
Alector, who generally does the backgrounds, but in this case I actually drew 'dem flowers. And 'dat wall. But almost all the other backgrounds in the comic are hers.

the effect is lost with the inclusion of poor grammar. :P
You probably fell down a flight of stairs as a child. They were probably concrete stairs.
So many words have been stolen, unmodified from other languages that the english spelling an pronouncing rules don't work!
Also i just wanted to say that i happen to be a drama whore too!!! :D
Why do you always create such amazing characters?
The way he is looking at the flower, and the title, imply to me that they use opium to help keep the slaves in check, or something of that nature. Seems like something they would do. But I might be reading too far into it (or too little). Just my thoughts....
Awesome and impressive piece of art. You are very skilled at capturing the emotions and conveying them to the viewer.
In the scattered way my mind works, the first thing to pop into my head when I saw this was a line from the song Southampton Dock by Pink Floyd "Still the dark stain spreads between their shoulder blades, a mute reminder of the poppy fields and graves"
Kind of random I know.
Greek tragedies are good but I can only stand so many at a time before getting depressed.

...I think that's why your art is so amazing, Rukis: you really capture the pain and the sorrow of human drama. Though he's only a fictional character, you'd swear his story was real as though you'd lived through it yourself...
...I'm not sure if that's a good thing to be thinking so deeply about, but...yeah. There it is.
You're amazing Rukis thanks so much for sharing
