The spaceship flies quietly through space. There were 13 light years left to the planet AX-4APH. Ray has finished experiments on one of the Axorns and is now taking it to his home planet, he still has many plans besides studying this painfully calm creature, from whose blood a cure for cancer can be made. Ray slowly approaches the large, round porthole with this little creature in his hands, on the thick windowsill where the fluffy slug ram Yu is now sitting, and asks:

"W-Why can't we leave him here with us? He is so cute."

The little companion asks carefully and modestly, sitting near the large porthole and watching with his eyes as Ray sits down opposite him with a heavy sigh, holding the object of his research in his long hands.



"A spaceship is not the best place to live for such a neotenic larva, with our conditions, SHE would not live here for long."

Ray responded in a dry voice, correcting Yu's misunderstanding about the creature's gender, not giving his fluffy companion a glance as he languidly looked down at the sleeping creature on his left arm, slowly stroking it with his free hand.



"Can't you... create the right conditions for her?"

Yu asked carefully, nervously moving his hoofed paws over his knees. He knows that Ray is smart and can do anything, so there is still a spark of hope in him.



"I save resources, bud, on my fortune and yours, if you don't notice."

The cat said in a serious tone, stroking the axorn, making her purred carelessly, succumbing to affection. Ray's piercing gaze rose from under his forehead and met Yu's gaze, causing him to hesitate in place, even his pink, fluttering tail to tuck in.



"I-I'm sorry, I just thought... it would be great if we had.. a pet?"

Yu noticeably dinked, his eyes ran around until he stuttered to explain his innocent wish, trying to look unobtrusive in front of the owner of this spaceship.



"Firstly, you don't need such fun at all, to take out shit and constantly suffer with food over some cutie. I'll find you some more interesting work myself if necessary."

Ray explains, his tone leaving no room for arguments, but in order not to frighten his companion further, his gaze shifted to the beautiful view of the nebulae outside the thick glass of the porthole.



"Oh.. okay, I understand..."

Yu did droop, though. His ears and snail-like antennae drooped sadly, as did his gaze down at the floor. He hugged his legs and pressed them to his furry chest, trying to blend into the wall. There was a long, slightly awkward silence, broken by axorn's purring.

Ray's face softened as he watched his companion fall silent, and his small heart sank uncomfortably deep in his chest at the strange mixture of feelings he was seeing now. Without giving much of a sign, Ray continued, in a calmer voice:



"And secondly... I already have one pet.."

Hearing this, Yu's ram ears rose up and, raising his head, he looked at Ray with genuine interest and a sparkle in his eyes, asking in a slightly raised voice with slight joy:

"R-Really? I never noticed, w-what is this pet?"



"You."
