Rita is a simple creature... she finally got that paperclip. She also lives in the dark like a bat, but I think it's mostly to conserve energy cuz she's cheap.

also, you might wanna check out rocky, its a swedish semi-autobiographical funny animal cartoon that is mainly focused on small everyday situations and crazy dialogue. Ive been reading it for a decade and it is awesomesauce: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rocky_.....omic_strip%29. There is an English translation of it too.

Play with expressions, silliness. A very mundane thing as being given a paperclip became something exciting and wonderful.
I can tell with the first few pages you were just trying to quickly get through the setup part so you could move on to the fun stuff. But you have to remember, if you don't grab the reader from the first page, they probably won't continue reading.

I kept trying to think of good ways to start the story and moving in seemed like the best start, but besides the mundane actions of moving in, I had a hard time trying to hook readers. I have some grand expectations for Ay Tu but for now I'm just trying to introduce characters and help the readers settle in to them.
I've always been too intimidated to start a comic, I'm just happy I can share my characters with people in a story. But if there is ever anything you could point out to help as I go, I'd definitely hear it :)
