I knew I could make this a lot better. And there's still plenty of room for improvement.
I wish I knew how to wrap textures... actually, with the way I have the cel shading working here, it could be really tough to pull off textures. @_@
Next up: Rigging for animation!
(3D model made in Sculptris. 3DS Max for rendering. Original model had half a million polys but I got it down to 15k for easier animation in 3DS Max. )

I've never heard of that program. I have 3DS Max, Sculptris and Blender right now. Blender and Sculptris are both free but Blender is so confusing! I should find some tutorials on how to get anything to work in there... I couldn't even figure basic stuff out at all. xD Sculptris is amazing. Really light, simple, and even quite versatile. It's really good with a tablet, too. :) I turned a ball of virtual "clay" into a respectable squirrel (after some changes and revisions, the one shown here) in a few hours without much trouble, and it's only the second time I've played around with the program for any amount of time.
3DS Max is normally really expensive but I got access to it with my college e-mail. My degree program works with 3DS for modeling and animation quite a bit. It's quite robust but you kind of have to "trick it" into rendering in cel-shading like this. Luckily it's not too hard. Just takes some tweaking. ;)

Ahhhh. *Chuckle* Deep Paint, and it's companion program Texture Weapons, were out a few years ago-it was almost on par with what Pixar used to make 'Toy Story' and 'A Bug's Life'. The company that made it is called Right Hemisphere...and when I got to toy with it....oei, was it pricey! Easily five hundred bucks.
Heheh, but I see. Well, I'm certainly going to have to look into Blender, at least-I've heard a few good things about it, and I've been tempted to add actual art to me writings.
