Here is the concept art of THE alien queen in my sci-fi world, Laina Olorin. I advise on reading general info on Var'nians I made under the last art comm I posted.

Laina is the facto a ruler of Tarinian empire(also known to galaxy as Scourge) and also its founder. She takes a rather non-direct approach in rulling it, leaving most decision making to the council as she lost the ability to care for the state after assasination of her partner by political rivals(that she publicly disemboweled herself). She still enforces her rule, whenever it is breached, as she tries to keep the empire from self-destructing due to sunken-cost-fallacy she can't help but follow, and also to keep her descendants healthy as they are the only thing left after her partner's death.

Her royal house doesn't involve itself in warfare, instead focusing on maintaining logistics of the state, through agriculture, manufacturing and medical services. The reason why she is able to stay on neutral terms with other lords and be rather innactive, is because she is vital to existance of the state, while also doing little in the ways of stopping other's ambitions, making her live relatively peacefull existence(and her grandkids as well) as nobody really needs to assasinate her, though attempt was made once and it was a catastrophic failure.

Var'nians used to be a small and sickly race living short lives. Laina was a scientist that managed to create a new species of her kind through genetic modifications, which allowed them to live longer than measly 4 decades, while also making them stronger. Her new race took over their world and begun creation of an empire across the stars. Her and her partners ambition was founded on a principle that war is inevitable between interstellar species and that being a galactic apex predators will be the only way to keep their race safe.

Laina herself is rather unique, most live only around 110 years now(200 with modifications), but she is nearly 500 hundred and still "healthy". Sure, her skin looks a bit sickly and her tired eyes lack hope or care for her well-being, but she still lives "just fine". She is massive multiton beast unmatched in size, being over 4m tall from hips. Important thing to note about reproductive abdomen; Var'ns have two ways of reproducing, with regular organs, which make very few offspring, but those are qualified as "lords" who are mostly unmodified and considered actual citizens, made from 2 parents, and then there is artificial reproductive abdomen of Laina's design back in her days of a crazy scientist, synthetic organ attached to the tail(which then rests insideof it, sort of like a plug) that creates warriors, genetically modified class of infertile, male only, drones fit for war. Laina did not married after her first love, but she still has thousands of "clone troopers" at her disposal at all times and she can make more.

She also has few other mods. Females of this species have a secondary jaws on the sides of their mouths, but the additional limbs or spikes are things that have to be added surgicially and Laina has those in addition to a thing of her own design. You see those "tumors" on sides of the base of the abdomen? Those are purification organs which serve to block alcohol from entering abdomen and hurting new warriors. Yes, she has a drinking problem,yes, she IS a wine mom.

Her personality is that of a person that feels both defeated yet too proud to step down. She focuses on simple pleasures to keep her life entertaining and the only thing that makes her somewhat happy are meetings with her still living descendandts(that is if they want to visit, too many are busy with their own lives). Her passion for biology is rather extinguished, she is nostalgic for her scientific days, but that spark refuses to lit back again.

So there she is, a person who lives in a limbo all because she wanted power and now can't help, but not know if this was worth it all, and even if she did wanted to change the course of history for the better, she has no way of doing it as she is all alone with her problems, unless...

so there you go, quick rundown of who is the ruler of my favourite villain faction in my world, maybe I should really polsih out the details and go back to writing? For now, I need to think on that
