I enjoy seeing the notepad comics both as an artistic challenge and convenience in one. Like doodling, you can draw them anywhere, anytime your hand is steady. Instantly portable. The size limitation demands a clean, simple design sense that eschews fine, time-consuming detail.
I'd nearly forgotten this song and the album it comes from. I listened to it often when it was new. My taste has long since changed.
Have you tried the Photoshop trick of making the blue ruled lines disappear, or do you prefer the authenticity that says, "see, this was all drawn on a small notepad"?

Portability of a notepad is a key to doing this during those long, boring hours trapped behind a security desk. Since it is also small sized, details are finalized earlier than a large page, although looking rougher. Thank McMurry for the ballpoint pen inspiration.
Not only do I leave the blue lines, but I also added the U.S. coin page counter for a functional reference. I will use Photomeat only for cleanup duty (especially letters) and some minor issues.
I'm glad that in some way I revitalized your notice of the song. I always try to pick songs I strongly feel and visualize clearly in my mind that I can put to paper. The really important ones like "Every Breath You Take" by the Police I will commit to a full scale comic. The next full one will be Zepp's "Stairway To Heaven" (...the next NOTEPAD one in works is Carly Simon's "You're So Vain"....)
I still remember YOUR musicstrip of Pink Floyd's "Learning To Fly" way back. If you haven't already, you should post it here.... maybe we can set a trend going?
One last funny thought........what would you think of the idea of me doing a Music-ALBUM-strip of Pink Floyd's "Dark Side Of The Moon" ? I can see a LOT of possibilities (as well as page count... ) in this... anyways....just a thought....
