"Ugh... what do YOU want? Can't you see I'm busy?"
...As young adult "Outcast," Sharon would regularly apply green and orange paint to various parts of her body (face, shoulders, and tail). She did this primarily in the hopes of making herself look more intimidating towards others, but... well, one could argue the mean glares and hissing threats that come courtesy of the unpleasant attitude she developed during this stage of her life do more to convey the message that one may want to keep their distance with this lady. As for whether the paint actually helps with that is another question entirely, but... probably best to just let her keep thinking that regardless.
... If you are, however, wondering why I, the guy who designed Sharon, decided to give her those green and orange stripes, then the answer is simple: I felt she needed something to break up all the red she has going on with her body, and since she already had the green and orange beads in her hair (always had them, even back in the first drawings I did of her back in '07), it made sense that I use those specific colors as a means of keeping her color palette simple and easy-to-remember, especially since I always felt like those particular colors were woefully underutilized in the original "Peasant" design. I like to think they're her favorite colors, invoking memories of watching the sun set over the lush forests she calls home, with the vibrant orange skies and green woodlands making for a rather picturesque visage... It's a good memory to have, I feel.
...So, Psicoyote had some open commission slots recently! Usually, the slots all fill up by the time I manage to figure something out for them to draw, but I actually got lucky this time and was able to get a form in! When it came to thinking up stuff I never showed Sharon doing, I thought having her apply her war paint would be a good basic image to share - after all, I've gotten art of her tying her hair in a ponytail before back in 2022 (she didn't appreciate being watched then, either), so why not show off the rest of her typical morning routine? A portrait pic this time, though, since I couldn't really justify such a simple idea warranting a full-body pin-up, but hey - sometimes less is more, right?
Man, Psi really nails that mean look pretty well, huh? In this and the last pic I got from them, they really knew how to make Sharon look as bothered by the viewer as can be. Makes one wonder how someone as timid as Melee hasn't been scared off by her... surely, he sees something in her that nobody else does? What about you, viewer? Do you see more than a mean face with Sharon? If so, let me know in the comments!
