I've actually have been putting clothes on my characters lately and I really love the see through cloth. The recent one I did, https://www.furaffinity.net/view/61966308/, Beverly (in the middle) has a semi translucent section of her dress. I love that look.
I don't think I'd even go back to traditional. I can do so much more with "special effects" like the gold, chrome or copper metal skin. Or like when I redesign Magnus, https://www.furaffinity.net/view/61182754/, I made his scales like "glass".
Still wanting to try and go 3D now that I got an even better desktop computer. I haven't had a job in four months (taking a year off to recover from nearly 20 years of warehuoue work) and I just can't get back into modeling a base character model. It's the trauma from the old job. I'm too afraid to start again because I fear working 10-hour days for years on end.
I got time to try and I plan on it. I could use premade models from Daz3D or elsewhere but none look like my style.
