I bet you didn't see this coming, but let me introduce you guys to my very first very own sona :D It took quite some time, I know...^^
So for those who didn't know, until now I used Estella to talk to you because I didn't have any avatar I could speak through. And even my older attempt for a sona was based 90% on Stella. And that led to a ton of confusion with a lot of you...^^;
Many of my readers identified Stella with me, and that slowly became a problem, because Stella is a character with her own personality and story. And over the years it really started to bother me…
So for the past year I was thinking about what kind of avatar I could make for myself. And it turned out to be a much harder thing than I anticipated… ^^ But as months passed by, I realised I have a few “quirks” I could nicely implement in a character :D
The first thing was my “food memory.” That means I can remember every single detail about anything if I remember what I was eating when it was happening. It is… a very specific talent, I know ^^ And I realised that in general I think a lot about food and like to eat in general a bit more than one should…
So those are clearly traits for a pig! But while pigs can be cute too, something is missing from them. They don't have enough... fluff! So after much thinking I know what I have to go with:
A BOAR!
They are “pigs,” so they like eating, but they are also fluffy, they have a lot of brown (I love the colour brown, don't laugh!) have adorable ears, can have some stripes (I know it's a bit of a stretch, but after Stella I just couldn't give up stripes!) and they also have one extra detail: tusks! And I'm sure I'm not the first artist who thought you could use the tusks to show emotions if you turn them into cartoony rubber, but I just adore this idea so much :D
So this is my sona: a fluffy, chubby boar :) I would also like to think of this design as “version 1.0,” because I'm still not 100% sure how to make it completely mine. I had no proper sona until now, after all. So I will allow myself to make some design or colour changes after I draw my fluffy pig many times and get to know her better^^

I can definitely relate to the choice paralysis of deciding what you want your sona to be. I've narrowed mine down to three choices with one being more concrete than the other two, but those two still rear a desire every once in a while.
Although, I don't have the talent to draw them myself, so I'll commission someone to do it eventually once I'm comfortably liquid enough to afford it.

I love this and relate so much!
I used to have fursonas, but they just turned into characters over time. They were fun, but never really felt like...me, ya know?
Im still kinda at that point, still lookin' for a match. Dunno what species, much less what breed (if that applies).
Im so stoked you were able to find yours, congratulations! Cant wait to see more of her.

Your Sona is very much adorable :)
And WHO Said boars can't be cute as heck?
Just ask Obelix, he will tell you that there is nothing better thank a boar... Not even Roman legionnaires... ;)
And your Sona being well rounded speaks of a positive selfimage :)
Lovely, very lovely indeed :)

Aww! She's adorable!
I love that you used your food memory to kinda push that creative idea into a sona~ When coming up with a sona that represents you, it very much can be a trial in of itself for sure! A lot of times, people just pick a critter for their fursona without giving it much thought as it how it can tie in for them on a personal level. Many will also change their critter or make changes as time goes on, so saying this is a "1.0 version" of her is absolutely the norm! I very much look forward to seeing how you develop your sona as time goes on~♥
I also feel this so much. I went through a long stretch of where I didn't really know what sort of sona would fit me.. if at all. My original one became nothing more than a roster character due to me losing all connection with her as a sona. A few trials and errors trying to find a good fit until I landed on my current. I had always been enamored by wild dogs, finding them fascinating and just down right gorgeous.. plus, it helped that they squeak. Something that I do... involuntarily... it's startling for people to hear it the first time xD

Damn. Actually drew the most smoochable avatar you could, huh? This calls for a pizza party.
But also yes, physical extremities being manipulated in illustration for the sake of visual expression is such a vibe. That and the static-proportion-at-any-angle, such as Mickey Mouse's ears. Two of my favorite aspects of character design.

I can relate to this... I mean, my Dale have 'started' as being my 'fursona', but during the years I came up with so many trait for him, and he lived so many different adventure that he become a quite self standing character, quite different from who I am. He may have some aspect of my personality, but is not 'me' anymore. To be fair, most of my characters have some trait from me, so I guess my fursona would be an amalgamation of them all: some kind of eldritch mutant with many poor being inglobated in it blob mass!
I shouldn't had watched "The Thing" again, recently...
Anyway, nice boar sona, she looks adorable!

An uncommon species choice, but undeniably a clever and unique one. I like how you've conveyed a very grounded body type and her personality (your personality, I guess?) through her expressions and attire. I hope this new 'sona works for you, and serves as a great face for your profile!
Not a lot of people make their personal avatars...shall we say, less-than-heroic-looking? So I congratulate you on a very down-to-earth fursona. :)
I created my hyena character because I have a raucous laugh, I'm kinda dumpy with short legs, I like food, and I also am a scavenger (most of my house was built with stuff I literally scavenged from the "Curb Side Outlet.") So a hyena was a perfect fit for a fursona for me.
There is an artist in Japan who has a hugely popular manga series--but she will only interact with her fans while dressed in a boar piglet costume. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Natsu_Hy%C5%ABga

Were I in any position of influence, I would have stressed that you should not feel pressured to have an avatar of your own, even if some of your readers confuse one or more of your characters for "you" - I am someone who holds a staunch rejection and resistance to being defined by others or yielding to peer pressure. (har har stubborn horse etc.)
However, if this avatar resonates with you, if you find it relatable and comfortable, you should absolutely be proud of it; she is utterly adorable and expressive, compounded by your already delightful art style. I wish you nothing but happiness and enjoyment from this self-discovery : )
And do not be ashamed about enjoying food. I sympathize >_>; I try to stay active to compensate, but it's so easy to, uh...fall off that particular horse.

Oh my God, adorable!! I think the design is great! I think it's normal to make adjustments here and there over time, since we ourselves can change over time as well. I'm on, like, v 3.6 by now...I went through a LOT of personal changes over the past decade, and I noticed my fursona wasn't matching with 'me' anymore, and went through several iterations. I also realized I shouldn't pick what I think looks the best, but to pick what makes me happy...once I started doing that, I found I was sticking to design elements for more than a year, lol.
Your boar is so adorable<3

So cute!!! She's adorable!! I love her!! I actually have a boar character...because my Chinese zodiac is the boar...and she still has her spots, so she still gets mistaken for being young, even though she's full adult...much like myself. I look younger than I am and because I don't act my age, people think I'm either very late teens or very early twenties. I love the look on their face when I tell them my actual age -cackles- So my girl's nickname is 'Squeaker', which is one of a few terms for a young wild boar :3
