Tangle and Whisper better eventually be in the actual Sonic games someday.
Ian Flynn, Evan Stanley and the others working on the IDW Sonic comics have added some legitimate gems in the roster of character for this universe. Surge, Lanolin, Jewel...and of course those two. Tangle and Whisper are a lot of fun, with fans responding pretty well to their inclusion. One can dream that Sega will just understand they're well-liked and include them in the, admittedly, very large roster.
The artist for this one is alliend13 , who has proven time and again to be extremely skilled. The mixture of semi-realism with the Mobian style works quite well here, with those two looking sharp indeed. If you like this, do know that they take commissions! https://www.deviantart.com/alliend1.....ion-1081529376
Now how come those two are out of their lamp? Read on and find out!

TOO TOUGH TO FUMBLE
“Bro, best be quick.”
“I'm doing my best, bro. Don't rush me!” Rough said, the skunk opting for finesse rather than his namesake approach. The lock to this safe was pretty difficult, the outer steel reinforced with titanium covering the object certainly making it a delicate operation. It wasn't that neither of couldn't crush it with enough force and momentum, but this was a stealth mission. The might required to destroy the outer layers could potentially crush what was inside and create enough of a ruckus to alert those around. The cover of night would not prove enough if the surrounding walls and everything else would come crashing down, after all.
“We get what's inside and we can, like, retire and have our own place bro,” Tumble went on to say, looking at his missing tail and already thinking of the nice prosthesis he could get with all the gems inside that safe. Maybe they'd be able to move away from all the Restoration stooges, from Sonic, Eggman and all that crap. Peace and quiet...and of course potentially meeker Mobians to shake down if they ever needed the extra income or fun. “We'll be super rich. Like, insane rich bro.”
Banging slightly on the safe, though attempting to do so lightly, Rough was certainly not having the time of his life right now as no matter what he tried...it didn't work. “The code you found is busted, it just doesn't work!” he said, shouting the first part and yet trying to contain himself on the second half. He was fuming, everything going well until this step. They bonked that quokka dude who had been patrolling...Bally? Berry? That guy. Then they didn't trip any alarms yet now it was so close yet so far. “I tried forward, backward, scrambled...yet the freaking safe just resists any and all attempts.”
“No no, I got it right, I think you're just doing it wrong. Let me try,” Tumble said, not waiting for an answer as the two brothers were in each other's way near-instantly. Bickering, nudges, then pushing and shoving as they just couldn't help themselves. Poor teamwork under pressure was one of their problem, though to acknowledge it was not yet within their grasp as they grew progressively louder. “Your hand is in the way!”
“No, your hand is in the way, bro!” Rough replied, not the best repartee but once again did pressure and tension play a part in this sudden downgrade in the smoothness of this current operation. Yet as they bickered and nearly came to blow did one sound go on to attract their attention.
Ahem...
A clearing of the throat, the revelation of someone else nearby as they both turned, an intimidating glimmer in their glance so as to make whoever this was reconsider their interruption. Yet who it was did surprise them as they expected many in this venture of theirs. Rouge the bat as a rival thief, Sonic because of course...but Tangle and Whisper? Not only it was those two from the Diamond Cutters but they seemed...changed.
“Even though all those riches in front of you dangle,” Tangle said, the first of the duo to speak up as she wore some kind of pantaloons, curved slippers, open bolero vest, low-cut top and golden jewelry, a far cry from her sportswear from the past. She filled them out too, noticeably so too as she did give a few other beauties a run for their money.
“(Whatever might be your angle,)” whispered Whisper, her voice much lower though still crystal clear for reasons unfathomable. An open skirt, skintight long gloves, a low-cut top, a facial veil and some jewelry were worn by the usually much-more covered sniper. A clashing contrast in attire and attitude as they both took a pose, as if they didn't mind wherever Rough or Tumble looked.
“You'll have to contend with...Whisper and Tangle!” the lemur continued as they both pointed in the skunks direction. Dressed like belly dancer, it was particularly unexpected as both Rough and Tumble looked at each other, dumbfounded.
“Yo, why does everyone copy our intro?” Rough asked, that pattern indeed established by much of everyone at this point. Yet this was merely a knee-jerk reaction as another question did arise, voiced out by the other skunk.
“You two...uh...you two trying to compete with Rouge or what? Not that we mind the view, it's just...unusual,” Tumble vocalized, Rough nodding as to see two bedlah babes trying to pick a fight with them was most unusual. “Like, are you going to dance us into submission or something?”
“(Precisely,)” Whisper answered as it was Tangle who went forward first. Foot at an angle, toes hidden by her slipper yet still vaulted, she then began to spin her hips in a low and then wide circle. Arms behind her head was she then followed by the wolf, who still had her eyes closed yet had no trouble being a perfect match for the lemur by her side.
“Bet you didn't expect that, uh?” Tangle added, beginning to shimmy her shoulders, letting that current of rapid motions go down to her hips in a long and sensual wave. Her lengthy tail extended, framing both bedlah-clad women as they blocked the exit with their sultry and provocative performance. Neither of the duo missed or skipped a beat, as if they were of the same mind, a tandem of tantalizing twists and turns. Their fur, their flesh...all rather comely and yet it was Rough who went on to take the initiative.
“Yeah you can look all you want, but screw this. We've been made, so let's split!” the smaller skunk went on to say as he grabbed the safe and then made a run for it. Tackling both dancers did he pass without much resistance as Tumble followed closely, matching his brother's reaction quickly. Both women were certainly not as physically imposing or ruthless as they were, making pushing them aside a breeze as the two skunks were running as fast as they could.
“Good thinking, bro. Their allure couldn't compete with our brain and brawn!” Tumble said as the two went through the streets of this little burg in which the safe could be found. The dead of night acted as cover for them as they went as fast as they could, eventually leaving the homes and commerces behind before going deeply into a forest where they figured no one would find them. “Wow...that was intense...why did they even think dancing would stop us though?”
“Dunno, maybe they wanted to seduce us and become, like, our wives bro. I claim Tangle though,” Rough said as he smirked, dropping the safe upon the ground as both skunks went on to look around to see if they hadn't actually been followed. “You can have Whisper if you'd like. She filled that outfit, uh...she filled it nicely.”
“Yeah...but you know what would be much better filled, bro?” Tumble said as he rose his fists in the air, bashing without reserve on the safe. “Our pockets!”
“Aha! Yeah bro!” Rough agreed, the two skunks going on to rip and tear that darn metal box. It felt good to finally stop being delicate and subtle as they finally breached it, the prize finally within their reach. What was inside left them stupefied, wide grins on their face as the sparkle and glimmer of a veritable treasure trove of gems granted them immense satisfaction. “We're rich, bro!”
“Bro, we're rich!” Tumble added, the two picking everything clean and before they knew it were they far, far away. They bought a domain, had a massive house built, planted “no hedgehogs allowed” signs just about everywhere as the good life, the best life was finally theirs. Good food, easy targets, no blockheads from the restoration or silly quill-headed doofus to ruin their fun. “Bro, this is the life.”
“This is the life, bro,” Rough said, sipping on quality fruit juice as he grilled some hot dogs while the chili was simmering down. The nearby villagers were pushovers, agreeing to give them anything if only they'd be quiet and would not destroy personal property too much. Rightfully respected and feared, the two brothers were living their best life, yet new arrivals made them put up their guards rather quickly.
“Relax you two...we decided to ditch those losers at the Restoration and go with huge, handsome winners instead~” Tangle said, the lemur still wearing that beautiful bedlah as she was joined in by Whisper, whose smile certainly gave credence to that statement.
“(Too much work...not enough fun...but you two are much more awesome than those whiners and do-gooders~) Whisper added as she too wore that surprisingly revelatory outfit. Both girls had somehow found them anew and yet this time they weren't there to fight...but to join in on the good times too. “(We brought others with us...)”
A veritable cavalcade of lovely beauties had indeed made their way to their domain and residence, each of them wearing intricate and certainly exotic garments. Rouge, Vanilla, Jewel, Amy Rose, Wave...they all revealed themselves in their bedlah, dancing as the two of them had suddenly gained a veritable harem of babes. The two grinned at each other, soon attended to by lovelies of high caliber as they high-fived one another.
“Best plan ever...bro...” Tumble said, dazed as the reality of the situation was far, far from what they imagined. In truth were they still in the private residence in which those gems were stashed, stuck on the same spot only they were dazed, blissfully smiling and observing the dance performed by the lemur and the wolf duo.
“You said it...bro...” Rough added, swirls in their eyes as they shared the same dream, the same illusion conjured by light words whispered through their brain, all while the dance distracted and dazzled them. Thile they fantasized and enjoyed themselves, they were easy picking as soon did Tangle and Whisper stop their little improvised routine.
“One more victory claimed with the power of love!” Tangle said, making a peace sign as she grabbed both skunks with her extensible and surprisingly mighty tail. Coiling them both together, they were mindless and helpless as she smirked, proud of herself.
“(Actually more due to hypnosis, illusions and genie magic...)” responded Whisper, a little more down-to-earth when compared to her partner. Still, all of this had indeed awakened something within her as she eyed Tangle with a certain hunger. “(Maybe you can show me the power of love a little later...in our lamp~)”
“Oh yeah, the power of love is mighty. That's a wish I'll happily grant you, dearest~” Tangle said sultrily as they both removed themselves from the scene. Such patrols dictated by Lanolin could be particularly boring, but it did occasionally led to some little trials and experiments like this one. With Rough and Tumble in their grasp would they head to a holding cell before eventually returning for a report and then...
For some quality time inside the Lamp Emerald they shared.
