In the times I've had enough, I still wish for the worst

My first all-digital piece of art! Previously I was tracing over my traditional drawings (Smoke Break is the only one to have made it to Bsky or FA), and finally built enough coordination to try a fully digital piece. This was the result.

I didn't really plan on a background but when I was looking through Krita's brushes the mission statement expanded to "use the brushes however I can". I think I overdid it though, because there's 3 different brushes in 2 different colors painting over Votaia and her spear.

This isn't even the original original, my final export was incredibly dark. It fit my vision, but because I relied so much on dark reds and greys (the brightest color here is the orange I used for the sky), and layering all of them on top of each other... Yeah. I think I have Doom 3 beat in the Hard To See competition. Thankfully I found on option on my phone that boosts the brightness without washing the colors out and still, mostly, preserving the atmosphere I had in mind. I think the real star, ignoring how proud I am of my first digital piece, is the pose. I nailed the way Votaia's on her knees and spitting blood. It's pretty minor in the grand scheme of the art but I spent literal days refining it and it came out perfect.

Here's to more fully-digital pieces in the future... I hope. I'm struggling with a new one but I'll figure it out.
