Yay! I've been working on this OC for quite some time now, and I wanted it to be done ages ago but I just struggle so much when it comes with coming up with colour designs for characters. In fact I'm still really not sure on her outfit colours and they may change. But I already tried like a hundred different things so I'm letting it rest for now.

Pelica is a very fun character who was kinda my answer to the IDW STH character Mimic, I thought it was very interesting having an octopus character and I love the way he is drawn and how wiggly and twisty his tentacles look. it's a very creative approach to a character, on top of being a very sinister bad guy
so I thought, I wonder if you could do an octopus who has totally different vibes? A character who instead of being off-putting and creepy and unsettling is instead kind and sweet and makes you feel safe.

And I ended up designing this friend.
Pelica grew up on a sort of holiday island separated from the mainland, but after a bunch of bandits sporting reprogrammed junk badnicks invaded and she stepped up to help defeat them, she ended up leaving to go support the mainland in their disasters.

Pelica has protective powers, able to create bubbles out of light that are hard and can block attacks. She can sorta float around a little inside bubbles but not forever. I imagine her bubbles feeling similar to the ones in Steven Universe.

On top of that she's very perceptive and fast to react, and very good at discerning character, so as well as helping the restoration HQ I kinda imagine her also ending up helping the Chaotix Investigation Agency (Vex, Espio and Charmy) at times. Since her skillset works so wel lfor the types of cases they get and in the grittier times can use her powers to keep civilians and her teammates safe or even to capture bad guys. actually that probably plays really well with the rest of the team's powers/abilities too XD

Anyway I so wanna draw her in the future, I'm quite happy with how she came out!
