This was my contribution to the summer secret santa art trade over at draconic.org. My subject was 
dracotic and hopefully I've captured it well. It does seem to have gone through another iteration of itself since the start of the project, but here's what I was given to work with, along with some notes about how it has many forms and is a mutable creature and such.
I only know Dracotic a little, so I decided to dig through its writings around a few places to get a better sense of what it's like as a creature and tried to use this to inform the piece. It was challenging but also really fun to work on. I learned a lot about animals I hadn't known much about before, especially the gharial, an amazing, unique crocodilian that is also, unfortunately, critically endangered, with only a couple hundred individuals left in the wild. To learn more, check out the Gharial Conservation Alliance, which is trying to save this species from extinction.
