I think 16 is now officially my OC's magical number:
- She's 16—or claims to be 16 at the beginning of my story; in reality, she's 15, but let her have her fantasies ;P
- I started working on and finished her concept art in 2016
- And until July 2025, she's been depicted by 16 artists* in their respective styles

So, here we are, at Dash's "sweet sixteen," committed by JKNewLife. And believe it or not, the drawing you see came to life by mere luck.

'How come?' you may ask. On July 2, 2025, JK posted on his DeviantArt profile about a freebie request slot. All he wanted from us was to post references about our anthro OCs and provide some details (e.g., clothing, ambiance, location). As I mentioned in my most recent Dash drawings—in particular those commissioned after 2023—I had to set a limit to how much I can spend on drawings. This is why I started participating in art raffles and freebies, hoping that I'd be chosen.

The same was the case here; the fact that I love how JK draws anthros a lot was only a bonus. In fact, I even told him in my own comment that Dash could look awesome in his style. So, I gave him the usual references, found a nice position for Dash done by the always fantastic baroncoon, hit Submit, and went on with my life.

Cue July 14, 2025, and, much to my surprise, I was greeted by JK's version of Dash in my art feed. At first, I thought that my other commission came early, then it hit me: JK actually chose Dash! What's even better is that, despite only providing JK with references, Baron Engel's picture, and a very short description of what Dash should be doing, this picture just oozes with Dash's essence. The icing on the cake, however, is the tiny details JK got right on the first try: the correct tail feather pattern, Dash's overall color scheme, and her feet partially covered by her pajamas.

In the end, what I got was a wonderful, beautiful surprise at the end of a crappy work day, an early 5th birthday present for my Dash plush, and another addition to my drawing collection of Dash. I couldn't have asked for more. ^-^

* On August 2, 2025, that number rose to 17 with the addition of a commission from AAR0NJAY that coincided with my Dash plush's birthday. (Or one of her birthdays. Long story...)
