wow....this is freaking awesome. I was practicing this song for kareokee for the past few days and listening to it over and over. it is strange how it would show up here. maybe it is a sign XD but you do this really awesomely. I never thought of hearing this song as a full vocal piece. you did wonderfully one of these days I wish I could do something vocally with someone else. I have a couple barbershop tags on my page but they are just my first attempts at it with a shit mic. and tenor kicks my ass x_x

I'm glad you like it. It's a really cool song and in contrast with their funk rap slap stuff. I had forgotten about the song until it came on my iTunes at random.

So, gotta ask outta curiosity, what made you decide to go major 3rd on the line 'Take it on the other side'? After checking it, I realize that the minor third in the original is only in the guitar, not the vocals, but it still seems an interesting choice to me.

When I listened I heard an open 5th at the part you're talking about. it's in A minor and the minor triad is implied, but whenever I hear it I fill in the harmony I wish was there.
It's more interesting to throw in a borrowed I chord and it makes the transition from AM to Am whith the start of the chorus more dramatic.

Makes sense. I was just curious. :D

Beautiful! This isn't to say that your voice wasn't already top notch when I first heard you, because it was, but I feel like you've improved a lot or something in the last... maybe 3 or 4 months.

That's great to hear! I'm always trying to get better. As I age my voice should become more stable and stronger, and I'm always working on technique.

At first, I was waiting for the drums to start, but then I realized what you were doing. Wow, this song sounds great a capella! Good job, I really like the harmonization.

It loses the driving quality of the percussion, but hopefully retains and exalts the melancholy.

That RCHP video was one of the first music videos that really impressed me. Growing up in the 90's, I always felt the videos on MTV were uninteresting and overrated. It seemed like the coolest effect most directors could think of back then was to alternate between colour and bw shots. I do think videos have improved considerably these days.

Drugs are so often like taking a chainsaw
to yourself and than patch working it all
back together with duct tape.
