Carla had heard there was treasure in the shoals, and a lot of it too. Armed with her illusion magic and her scepter's ability to wield water, she was plenty ready to explore. Plus with a certain mangrove dragon not in this area she felt confident in her ability to procure treasure without him tracking her down for another round of kitsune ingestion. All she needed to do was find an entrance and start looking for gold.
The first few entrances were too narrow to fit through, some required her scepter to help navigate the otherwise underwater passageways, and others were obviously occupied by various less-than-friendly denizens, some of which were particularly keen on defending their home from intruders; all such passageways were devoid of the treasure she was looking for. Finally, she comes to a wide open cavern, this one above the water and definitely no one at the entrance this time... this was her chance! She dashed inside and immediately found shipwrecks and various flags and other pieces of pirate ships lying about partially submerged in nearby water that came into this cavern from somewhere else, and where there was shipwrecks there was treasure~
The loss of much of the light from the entrance came just before the heavy footfalls sounded the presence of something huge arriving inside the cave, and she scrambled to find a place to hide, at the same time not wanting to make a sound that would attract the creature's attention. Unfortunately the passage she chose resulted in near surrounding by wet, rocky walls, save for a sheer cliff that would be certain doom to jump in. A dead end! She touched the walls, hoping beyond hope there was a secret mechanism she could touch to open up the wall, but none presented itself.
"Hmmmmm... you're much prettier than the last one they sent; I almost didn't hear you~"
"W-wait... what? I..." Carla turned around only to find herself face to face with a large blue dragoness, roughly the size of Tydas, but this one sported a longer flowing mane and two crystalline horns on top, one smaller horn on her snout and one larger horn on her forehead, both glistening on their own as the dragoness stared her down with a trickle of drool already forming out of her mouth. She was completely cornered and afraid, but also wondering what the dragoness was talking about. What did she even mean by "last one they sent?"
Wait, no time to think about that now, she's coming! "S-stay back..." Carla warned, waving her scepter in a near panic, trying her best to use the water in the cave to batter the dragon and scare her off, but a simple fire breath was enough to disperse each attempt to ward off the predator until one last attack availed her from her magic device. Nothing stopped the dragoness now from closing the distance, leaning in for a good whiff of the kitsune's scent before humming with delight, her prey seeing the slow sweep of that tongue across those lips. "You're adorable," the predator hungrily mocked, "but tell me, did you really think I wouldn't smell you the moment you stepped foot into my home?" Carla whimpered and trembled where she stood, the dragon having trapped her inside her domain, a cavern she willingly walked into, looking for riches without great care for who could have possibly inhabited it. "No... wait... please..." was all she could say now, all she could do now as the dragoness licked her lips once again, as her magic was nowhere near strong enough to deal with a creature this powerful.
Her words had the most expected effect possible, which is to say no effect.
That blue, toothy maw snapped forward and engulfed more than half of Carla's entire body inside, leaving only one hand, her legs, and her six tails dangling outside while that wet, powerful tongue went to work savoring her taste, the kitsune's squeals and squirms of fear and helplessness met by the dragoness's moans and licks of delight and playfulness. This would go on for a solid few minutes as she was thoroughly tasted, no inch of her body left without multiple inspections as her flavor seemed highly enjoyable. Finally, she felt the dragoness tip her head up and easily send her down that blue throat with one vast swallow, though not before her predator had the pleasure of slurping up her six long tails all at once.
It was mere seconds before Carla landed in that stomach, the blue internals faintly glowing around her so she could see the walls pulsing in, squishing her from all around as she continued whining and squirming inside, only to serve as entertainment for the dragoness who let out a loud belch to further tease her prey, sitting down and chuckling tauntingly before continuing, "You'll find I am a very attentive hostess. No one leaves my lair unless I cough them up. And that is... rare~" Carla further attempted to plead her way out, but all the sound she could manage was muffled by the tight confines squeezing all the fight out of her. So that was that, she had now become an unwitting "guest" for a very possessive dragoness, and any attempt to leave would serve only to fuel her "host's" desire to keep her right where she was.
~~~~~
It wouldn't be until at least a day (or two) later that the dragoness named Kayda gave Carla a chance to talk with her, stating that this was how she treated all who attempted to kill her, that many would-be assassins and hunters before her had tried and all met the same confining fate inside this belly. But Carla never came to her lair with the intent to kill her, she didn't even know there was a dragoness who lived here. (She left out the fact she was here looking for treasure, that wouldn't be important to a dragoness defending a whole hoard of pirate booty, right? Not at all!) To her credit, that was completely true, and Kayda believed her; she had thought something was off and that the delicious kitsune was much too ill-prepared for her compared to others who were here to hunt her down. And while that didn't grant Carla immediate passage out of the dragoness she was able to have a more amicable relationship with Kayda, and that belly became more comfortable than before. Even after Kayda finally spit her out, the host insisted on a longer stay for her guest, and in return she could share information with Carla about the magical powers she had, perhaps even join in a plot against the people who gave the vixen her lead about the area and may or may not have known more about its inhabitants than they told her... and there was always the potential for Kayda to have further helpings of fox when she had one constantly within reach~
This was a comic I knew I had to save for 8/8 the moment I saw the finished piece, and I figured I could write a little story for it too! I was blown away by this art that Rave commissioned, and I can't help but love how teasy and possessive Kayda is, she's such a good pred, help... also love how Carla has mage robes now, that could be more of a thing I see with her in the future, maybe showing off her powers at some point~
