A reference for King Nyrtesh's quadrupedal form! As what is essentially a mass hallucination gifted the form that his people need him to be in, you can bet that things must be pretty dire for him to end up quadrupedal. Measuring about 7.5' at the shoulder at minimum, this is one hefty avian! And yes, by minimum I do mean that he can be larger! While I dislike the trope of characters soloing a dragon, in quadrupedal form he is likely to be taking on a D&D-style dragon, but he'll be doing so with his people. As a general rule he would likely be about 2/3rds the size of the dragon he tackles and accompanied by multiple tribes of his gryphonfolk, along with any adventurers that he's made friends with along the way. But also keep in mind that his size is influenced by the level of threat his people believe that they are in! So if you have a young dragon who's surprisingly well-versed in Illusion magic who's tricked his gryphonfolk into thinking that he's Ancient, he might end up being larger than that dragon! And of course, fighting is a last resort! If he can scare a foe off or talk them out of their current course of action, he would much rather do that! He may or may not also be able to convince his people at times that he needs to adopt this form for, uh... 'diplomatic purposes.' ...And once in a blue moon he can change his size at his own whim.
Incredibly happy with how WindySilver handled this! I kinda went into it thinking 'yeah, I'll just stick Nyrtesh's anthro form and a lion together. That'll work' but WindySilver had a few simple, handy questions to help make the gryphon distinctly Nyrtesh! Basically: "ears? tail? whiskers? teeth?" ...because there's now two creatures in one. How much of each do you want showing? Nyrtesh here is primarily bird with a little bit of lion in their legs, but I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for more feline traits than legs in other people's gryphons in the future!
