Years before meeting Klay or Darius, Souleymane was just content to be a nameless and faceless employee attending a tech conference in Atlanta. And Luke also happened to be in attendance and was brought on to give a keynote presentation for one of the panels.
During down time, the two happen to come across one another in one of the few designated smoking areas. Souleymane's lighter wasn't working so he asked the strange lynx if he could borrow his. And while Luke had a working lighter, he wanted to tease the genet and make him work for it. So he leaned down and allowed the shorter man to share his light to ignite the cigarette. Souleymane hadn't appreciated the teasing at the time, but he couldn't help but think back on the experience every few months or so.
