Imagine if Boogie from The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy was an actual threatening character? I remembered in the Movie: "The Big Boogie Adventure" Boogie became a Pirate (and a Lawyer) as he raced Grim and the kids to get to Horror's Hand.

The Boogieman likes to act like he's a big deal but given the nature of the show he's just an overgrown middle school bully who is actually a coward that can't scare anyone but particularly wimpy children. His greatest fear is discovering he's actually not scary at all, which he eventually does and is so traumatized that he's now scared of everyone and holed up in his house for the rest of his life.
He's an jerk but I feel sorry for him

Imagine if he was actually in a different media that took him seriously. The Boogieman is a being that is meant to represent the fear of the unknown; He's a Shapeshifter, he can appear in people's dreams, he is the rival of the Grim Reaper and has stolen his Magic Scythe which contains phenomenal cosmic power, and if he had realized Grim had turned Horror's Hand off, he would have had the ultimate Nightmare inducing magic object available in the Underworld. He could still absolutely be an egotistical bully who hates kids.
