Something disgustingly adorable I made with the intent of making duplicates of him for laminated charms to sell at RF.

well I don't know of any tutorials offhand, but there is at least one thing I can tell you about how I use them, that I hope will help. (I don't claim it to be the best or only way, just how I learned to use them. This also isn't applicable for ALL areas you could color with prismacolors, just a general rule of thumb for this example)
For any one color, say like the green here, I pick out 3 colors in a compatible color range of dark, light, and a middleground. I lay down (lightly, the key is not to press too hard to start) where I want the dark/shaded area to be, then go over that with the middle color with a bit more pressure to blend the dark and middle colors. In the areas that I would want the highlights/lighter color, I put only a light covering of the middle color, and then go over those less-colored areas with the lighter color. Once all the color is laid how where I want it, I go on to lay down more layers of color using more pressure with any of the colors, variable depending on what I want more of in any one area. ... if that makes any sense >_>
Maybe one of these days I'll find time to make a tutorial :s hope this helps in the mean time.

OH ALSO, something I forgot to note about this example... I'm also using a layer of prismacolor marker underneath the pencil work. With that, I put down a solid layer of the primary marker color that I want as a base, and then color over the top of that. Using markers alongside the pencil coloring gives a much more vibrant result in the end.
