The great blue monoceros,
Tugrik left us on July 31st after a lengthy illness followed by a hit from pneumonia. Tugrik was part of first fandom, also a Wizz on Furrymuck. Best described as Big Blue by the parkies, the park 'cleaner' of errant characters by eating them. Tugrik was also a massive help with many conventions by setting up their systems, networking. I'll never forget him showing me at a Baycon in San Jose a short cartoon in his elaborate van that a couple years later would debut as 'South Park'. I was in hysterics watching it.
Tugrik was also an avid cameraman, taking numerous videos and photos, and utterly HATED anyone touching his gear without permission.
Tugrik was also frequently featured in my on-line strip 'West Corner of the Park' plus hosted it on his servers.
I'm having a big of regret not following a commission request he wanted, hounding me for a year. Wanting the Big Blue and Red Shetland 'Having relations' . I kept denying his request despite his hefty financial offers. I just couldn't mentally justify it. As I said to him "It would be like watching a St Bernard having attempted sex with a Yorkie." I last denied him 3 weeks before his passing.
Tugrik was good people, a gentle soul, and sorely will be missed by many. Therefore earning a rare full color Tribute.
God Speed you Big Blue

Not so long ago did found an interview to Harlan Ellison for the radio in YT where he talked about (at the time) latest published anthology: Angry Candy.
Back then Ellison exposed that he did wrote an anthology of tales revolving around the concept of grief and death due going through a time in life in which many people he did admire and considered friends were passing away. Seeing this memorial, being reminded that FurryMUCK was a thing along with the old fandom, as well as seeing people like Ozzy Ousborne no longer being among us, does make me now understand better why Ellison called grieving loved ones which weren't related to you as "angry candy".

Uniblue was always a good one for a smile, a hug, a nod. Unless you were a fox, then you got a gulp.
If you open up EDITROOM on any MU* thst has it installed, you'll see it was created by Tugrik. It also has a line in there, "With extra minters for Flinters", a result of a weird glitch I stumbled into that allowed me to change the ownership of Room 0 to myself. It was a crazy thing that we shared between mucks to get it quietly fixed.
ZeZe Sharis also was close to him. I miss that zebracorn as well.

Met Tug a few times at FC, always good for a chat and maybe a picture. Some decades earlier was jesting in the wcotp that it would be fun to toss folks in the lake. Sometime later Tug nudged that you can now set yourself tossable_ok=yes (or something close) and others could toss you in the lake with great hilarity.
there's a link at the top of the FA page as a popup. I'll put it here. https://www.furaffinity.net/journal/11192311
Yeah, I had the same thing convincing the mods to infinity the late
Mavraster s page after she passed away. Took a notice from her college to convince them.
I can see their argument, that too many people fake such things, so they want hard official proof.

Dronon put together a very nice eulogy for Tugrik on Flayrah.

Legacy.com has published an obituary for Tugrik. Dronon linked to it on Flayrah.

Wow… I fell into a bit of a rabbit hole. I visited Tugrik’s FA and the other links shared here, and it brought back so many memories. I followed Tugrik for a long time, but I didn’t know about his passing until I came across your tribute.
You often honor people and artists through your work, and for that I’m truly grateful. I had no idea he had been struggling with his health, and like many others in the Fandom, I’m saddened that he left us so young.
May his hooves echo proudly across the Rainbow Bridge, and may he rest in peace. I know he will always be remembered.

I miss him, still. Every day. Even though it's been years, he was there in his scooter at one of the only cons I ever attended, and even smiled a hello at little ol' terrified of being out in public me. And I couldn't help it, I smiled back. He was that kind of a wonderful person.
