Unlike my last Punimals Characters Name - "Dill PIG-les" which only really worked in English, todays characters name is a pun on two german words that also happen to ryhme. Stag Beetles are known as Hirsch Käfer (Hirsch is the german word for Deer /Stag). And Kirsch(e) is the german word for "Cherry". This little guy and the silly pun have been on my "PUnimals I would like to draw list " for a very long time :-D
