The following day, we continued our work. Some anomalies still happened, but far more infrequently than before with all the new observers keeping things in check.

Emilie and Eastman had other ideas though. After work, Emilie pulled me aside once again, told me that Eltyr was going about this all wrong. Eltyr was trying to minimize the effects of the object, when in her mind, they should be embracing it. So, she wanted to get back down there with as little eyes as possible.

I asked how she planned to do this, as anywhere near the crater was highly guarded and controlled. To which she gave a smile and instructed me to put the tracker of my comms device somewhere by my bed and return.

After doing so, we both walked out of the barracks, interestingly nobody stopped to ask what we were doing, or even looked our way. I wondered why that was the case, the staff always stopped me anytime I did wander out at night. But then I noticed a faint green glow coming through Emilie's shirt. I think she made us invisible.

We made our way to the crater's edge, and Emilie removed some loose rocks, uncovering a green shard. Like those at those obelisks. She grabbed my arm and then the shard. Next thing I knew, we were back down in the mines, not too far away from the laboratory.

And just like Emilie said, less eyes on this place put forth more anomalies, and then they got more intense. Most notable was the ceiling becoming endless, while that decorative stripe on the wall was repeated upwards. Very reminiscent of the Foundry anomalies.

It proved her point, but I was still unsure how this would help finding the object.
