*does a happy dance* I'm honored to be on your list! It's actually rather interesting to see the thought process behind the story. Don't be too put-off by the Draconomicon and the D&D stats. It looks daunting, but if you ignore them, you get some pretty good ideas! (But I play the dice game, so I like that stats. And now I'll stop getting nerd all over your comments.)
I hope you keep writing while on your internet exile!

Inspiration strikes from anywhere, doesn't it (although the Final Fantasy series may not have been the best inspiration...the whole "desparation attack" thing did kinda make your character too RPGish for a story)? Oh, but if some of that inspiration would strike me so I could write something worth reading!
Anyway, I hope you keep at it, and make another great series that'll make me check back every half hour to see if a new chapter's up (in short, please don't neglect "WDHN").
Now if you'll excuse me, I need to read all of Greyraven's stuff.

Ah, Finally! About damn time she got another fan! I warn you now, though, most of her stuff is rated 'AO', so U won't be seeing much of it w/ ur filter on. None of her stuff is centered around sex like my CSD series, but in her writing, just as in real life, it plays a large part in pretty much everything.
(Bah. Clicked the button on accident)
you in any way.
If I have, though, could you perhaps tell me how so? It could quite possibly be a misunderstanding. Or something simply resolved. I would hate to scare away readers because of some silly mistake in my writings, and will gladly try my best to resolve this issue if you could bring it into some sharper focus for me.
Again, I am sorry if I have offended you.
...And yes, the dragon types are from D&D.

Just so I know where I stand on this I need to know something first.
In real life (not roleplay, not "fursonas" or anything fictional) do you have any relation to Dragons (i.e. are you Otherkin?).
Anyway, I'll have to be blunt about what annoyed me most (and I've seen happen so many times) was that you, claiming to be someone that loves Dragons, writes about them being killed in horrible and graphical ways. Unless you're a sadist that isn't how love is normally expressed. Hell, the D&D "classifications" of Dragons are bad enough in themselves to most.
Still, unless your answer was yes to my initial question, you won't understand why it bothers me (and others) so I should just quietly disappear.

No, not at all!!! You make an excellent point!
To answer your question - No, I am not an otherkin. I do know several, though, and am actually chatting with one as I type out this reply. So I know where you're coming from.
To respond to your complaint, however, I have to say that it was a neccesary plot device. I needed to make a bad guy that everyone would love to hate, and this was the only way I could think of to do it. Please trust mhen I say that I hated killing them off even more than you hated reading about their deaths. I almost cried when I wrote that scene, simply because I love dragons more than anything else in the world, aside from my mate. But if you read chapter seven, you get to see the entire group get their comuppance a hundred times over.

Actually the only work of yours that I've read was I think Chapter 2 of Confessions of a Silver Dragoness. I've not even considered reading anything else since then. Anyway, I just felt like I had to mention my feelings because it seems like a losing battle, people like using Dragons as dumb monsters in games or shown as evil overlords and it's not going to be possible to ever overturn it. It's like fighting for the rights of a race, but you can never do well because of the inevitable "Yeah, but they aren't really are they so it's not like they are going to care, how do you know what they're like anyway?". Everywhere I look it seems killing my kind is promoted because it's "cool".
*sighs* Anyway, I've said my piece...

Chapter two? But... There was nothing like anything you described in that one...
And besides, I hate those steteotypes too! I'll actually yell at ppl IRL when they say that a movie like 'Reign of fire' was actually good! There was only one decent scene in the entire movie, and it was of a human getting pwn3d!
I HATE that stuff!!!! In fact, read this. It's all about my views on just how awesome dragons are, and how they would make better people than humans.

Ah, yes, that was 5, I beleive. I'm sorry, but I just hate rape with a passion, and I firmly beleive that the bastards deserved it. Besides, if you had read the next chapter, you would see something truly beautiful. The female and her rescuer fall in love <3 I'm in love with love, I think...
As for the rape itself, that's exactly the kind of thing those chromatic assholes would do. I hate them so much...
You know, it's odd. There are plenty of people sick and sadistic enough to be chromatic dragons, but if you can find a human being awesome enough to truly be a mettalic, I will personally kiss your ass.

And therein lies one of the main reasons I hate D&D's classifications. My scales are blue, my close friends are red, green and black. I like to think I'm not an "asshole chromatic", nor are they. I'm going to unsubscribe from this thread now though as it's just becoming hurtful again.
Oh, but you must understand. This only applies to those who follow the Wizards of the Coast standard, as I do. There are plenty of others who do not follow this standard, such as yourself, and are therefore exempt from this labeling.
I tell everyone beforehand that I follow the WotC standard, and therefore ensure that everyone knows, or is able to know, that certain types of dragon have certain personalities. If you do not follow this, then you should take no offence, and realize that these traits are not applicable to yourself as an individual.

If you do not follow this, then you should take no offence, and realize that these traits are not applicable to yourself as an individual.
But the problem is that the WotC labeling is insulting and flatout hurtful. It labels Dragons in general and regardless if you "follow it" or not it still demonises most Dragons and puts us in a bad light. Anyway, as a fiction writer and not an otherkin I don't think we're ever going to see this on the same level and having to read all this is deteriating my already damaged mood. No matter how much I try people are still going to continue doing this, there will still be D&D stories/games/movies and in general we will still always end up being an "evil" race (or dumb beasts). I just wish I could say to hell with it all but no matter how hard I try I cannot stop it from cutting deeply each and every time I see something.
But I don't understand what you're saying. WotC Doesn't demonize all dragons. There are five evil ones and five good. To keep the world in balance. Brass, bronze, copper, silver, and gold dragons are all sentient, benevolent creatures (smarter than any human, in most cases) that do their best to make the world a better place. And being dragons, their best is usually pretty damn good. Silver and gold dragons especially are quite dedicated to helping out the lesser races and completely demolishing any evil they find.
*points to his silver dragon avater* I'm one of the good guys, you know?

You're missing the point entirely but I don't have the heart to continue this discussion after fighting people about it for months, maybe someone else will help explain it better.
Summary: The fact it says White/Red/Blue/Green/Black Dragons are all evil is the insulting thing, scale colour has nothing to do with a Dragons "mentality" never mind "breed" so that creates another bad stereotype. They say those other five types of Dragons are nice... ok fine, but the fact they say the other five are evil isn't. They way they depict Dragons is completely wrong, although with it being fiction it isn't surprising, but it causes people to remember these things and apply it to all Dragons.
