Thanks. :D In my lack of my favourite windows-only program, I went and bought Sketchbook Pro. Not bad, but has its problems. :P
Loved testing the program with this. xD

You found any sharp-edged brushes in Sketchbook? I bought a (Windows) copy following NY Comic-Con, but didn't really get into it since all the brushes seemed to be antialiased out the wazoo.

I found raising the resolution, and making a new brush, pencil type and fiddling until you like the settings. (double click the brush icon)

It's the closest I found. If you have windows, you can always do the inking in Paint Tool SAI and then bring it over and color it.

You could have duel booted, or for $70 you could have gotten VMWare and used windows as an application on your mac.
I too have a mac and like Sai, it's pretty much the only program i have a VMWare partition for XD

Unfortunately, with the new OSX Lion update, PCpowered software and peripherals are no longer supported. :'( Didn't know that until after I updated. Lost my Corel Painter. I complained and they happily say. 'Don't worry, you can just buy it again on the Apple Store'.

I am loving this mac, but it has its problems...

Might dual boot in the future if I can get a copy of windows...

Have you tried Wine? It's an API / OS translationmajig that runs Windows/x86 programs in other x86 operating systems.

Maybe you could snag a free VM like VirtualBox and install a cheap old copy of XP.

still learning the ways of the Mac. Looked into that just now to find someone mentioned you can get SAI working but there are no drivers for pen pressure. :( It's useless to me without them...

Wait, are you switching over from Windows? Do you still have the old PC? Just *cough cough* acquire an appropriate CD image and use the old registration key. Shady legality be damned, you're licensed for an installation.

The old PC is in...more the 1 piece at this point. However your point is mildly valid since Microsoft basically is letting their licensing on XP go...

Frankly I'm amazed that anyone on the internet cares enough to worry about something necessary for their workflow - especially since Apple removed a pretty important feature from Lion without making a big fuss over it.

Do whatever you need to do to get Sai working and pay up later.

Well wat do u use now? What makes it worse then SAI? Other then you just not being used to it. Why can't a Mac use Sai?

I have 3 art programs (had 4 until OSX Lion update made one incompatable)

-Photoshop CS5 (traditional)

-Sketchbook Pro (Picture above done in it, but doesn't have the vector flick of SAI {My favorite feature})

-CLIP Paint (It is the mac equivalent to SAI. Almost exactly the same... BUT there only exists the japanese version of it and is incompatable with any other art program. I can't tweak things or move to photoshop without losing all the layers.)

Hm, guess that's one of the disadvantages of digital art, dealing with all those dang programs.

Problem with traditional art are expendable materials. You don't make any profit when it goes to paints. :(

As much as I love just drawing, I used a loan for this computer. Dx

Hm, that is true that you have to buy stuff with traditional. Though I think money could be made if you were really good, and used Micron pens and Primascolor markers. They've lasted a good amount soo far, and I got them for pretty good prices.

Good luck on the loan thing. I still have yet to be in debt, and I hope to avoid it.
