hmm thats difficult to answer.
but also pretty simple.

By just doing it.
Try it! Go download blender and have a go. maybe watch a quick tutorial on how keyframes work.

but thats just it. Try it, dabble around and have fun!

DONT be afraid to break things. And dont give up when you do.

oh and yea. Blender IS intimidating. Even to me after spending 2 years with it.

So maybe go to youtube and watch a "How to navigate in Blender" or Blender Basics tutorial to get you going.
Maybe take some notes while watching.
