A test of various things! Mostly working with my acrylic paint pens and trying out a bit of painting with ink/diluted ink. Also been watching/reading The Summer Hikaru Died and damn, did that do something to my brain. Hence the shapes in the ink portion.
Top Left: Squirrel (I'll give her a proper name eventually), head of biomechanics at the House of Bone and personal engineer to [REDACTED]. She's a grumpy, unfriendly cuss but an absolute genius about robotics.
Bottom Left: Samri and her beloved elemental water tiger companion, Zeke. They bonded as kids and have been adorable about it ever since.
Right: MAMMON, LORD OF DARKNESS. Mammon is a character that is hard to make look menacing unless I go very detailed with him, because he's not really supposed to look that scary on the surface. Him being a jackass with a crooked snout, wobbly smile, and no self awareness is to contrast his level of threat in the story. Pathetic? Yes. Horrifically dangerous? Also yes. That said, he can look spooky sometimes and that's fun.

Supplies:
- Stillman & Birn Epsilon sketchbook
- Ohuhu markers
- Kuretake No. 7 Brush Pen
- Pigma Micron 01
- Posca white pen 0.7
- Posca red pen 0.7
- Sakura pen-touch gold
- Kuretake Special Black Ink 60 + brush
- Extras: (Page 427 of Plant Disease Handbook (revised third edition) by Cynthia Westcott - glue stick - cut out of Ohuhu marker sketchbook)
Had a lot of fun with this one! Still waiting for my technical pen ink but it'll get here!!! Eventually!!!
Anyways, considering focusing more on black-and-white inking focused work for a bit. I am, ultimately, most inspired by manga and other ink heavy comics. Color as a focus is nicer looking as an end product, at least in online spaces, but completing my comic project would be much easier if I could focus on the inks instead of having to plan for color.
Inking is just my favorite part of the process anyways, part of why I've never taken to digital, it's just not fun when I'm fighting the lines more than making them.
