So team wheelbarrow is both soaked and baby fallen out. Do the time penalties stack? +20 second double whammy?

The penalty won't amount for much if they fail to find a way to make the wheelbarrow float.

I'm curious, how long did you have this strategy of theirs for dealing with the water portion formulated in your head before making this page?

That part was worked out about a decade ago

But in all seriousness, I hope it's okay if I ask a couple more questions:

1.) since you came up with how this competition idea did you alter or think of additional details to add or change or did it pretty much stay the same since you first came up with it that decade ago?

2.) Do you have an idea of how many panels/pages an "event"/arc is going to be, or when you start working on a page is that when you figure out how you're going to organize and separate things into panels and the size of the panels ect.?

I hope those questions make sense, sorry if they don't :3, and you don't mind me asking! I've been loving the comic and all your art! <3

The original race had a really steep slope part to it, that the reins were gonna be used to wrap around a pole to turn a really tight corner as the buggy hurtles down the slope...but I changed that for the water challenge instead as I thought...wait is this is all going on on in the training grounds of the base where would a steep slope come from? So I did modify a bit of the original plan, but for the most part most of this is pretty much from how it was originally conceived back in 2014. Weirdly a lot of Shine stemmed from this base charity day as that was the first idea that popped into my head and then i built the rest of shine around this point.

As for how many panels...pages....I keep telling folk it'll be another 100 pages to the end of the comic and that hasnt changed for a few years. Im notoriously bad at determining how many panels something takes. What I do is I know what I want a page to show and then i sorta play the scene in my head like a movie and pause the movie at key points and sorta spin the scene around in my head to find a how I want to display it. So it kinda all is dependant on the dialogue. What needs to be said on the page and the key expressions/emotions needing to be conveyed and then what image from the conversation encompasses that the best....

Im not sure if that makes sense but yeah for me (i guess cause i started life as a creative writer rather than an artist) its all about using the best pictures to convey the script.
